 What no arm, leg or Multiple sureties including wife, kids, uncle & auties and thier spouces incomes forever....

   Sorry banks are pet hate. Most do not understand the RISK they preach.

GOOD LUCK.

PS
Also try DJ&A (AFS (Pam)) And AFC (Ryan Forester), they are great but can not work miricals. Only difference is they deal with the frustration rather than you.

Banks normally not there for you when you need them but the first to try and sell you a new credit card and increase your overdraft when you don't need it or can't afford it.

=D* =D* =D*

Tried to get my (retired) Father in Law a credit card. No luck. I jumped through plenty hoops etc...., but he has no fixed income so they will not entertain the RISK. Hugely frustrating.

Then he gets an "invitation" for a new GOLD card via one of the major retailers in the name of a company he owned that has been dormant for 5 years  and no longer exists with OD of R10,000 & no card or other fees for 12 months? :?

Sorry about HI JACK

Getting back on track (I think?) What do you wanna finance? I have found some will do new trikes and even 'new" second hands (less than 5 years old), but most are very nervious and want huge deposits and short terms. (30% and 36 months) vs 10% and 54 or 60 months which is car norm. Also if you looking to finance less than R50K-R60K it not worth the effort to most.

At least there is a contact name and e-mail address for the one's that are seriously looking into financing.

Just pulling your chain Bennie

I personally have found it most interesting in that instead of looking at a second hand trike, this option would allow me to purchase a new one!! Definitely something to think about.

Banks... They make me sad

Seriously, assuming you have a good credit rating, and a colour printer, imagine the following.

You walk into Farrari Sandton and tell them you want an Enzo on finance. You fill in the forms and the bank asks for your bank statements to prove income. MS Word sorts you out with that. Finance approved - please supply confirmation of insurance - no problem, MS Word.

Thanks mate - collect your car a day or two later, drive it down the road and write it off. The bank will never see a cent of that 5 MILLION!!!

Or be honest, buy the most expensive car you can afford, insure it legally and drive it out the dealer and write it off. The bank is still very exposed "risk" wise.

Now, try to buy a little 300k house somewhere. Please supply 1000 documents, a seeded life policy, 1 arm, 2 kids and the fingers from your other arm etc etc etc. All this for a house that you can't write off (barring burning it down), steal, crash, or hijack??? Seriously, there's risk??

F@#% banks I say

Krustman

Change banks. Fixed Property is easiest "asset" to finance these days. If banks are giving you a hard time use a bond originator. They hit all the banks with your app and fight for the best deal....

Problem I have with them is they are willing finance a say a R500K car (fast depreciating asset) over the fone which loses 20+% when you leave the showroom, yet they are "hesitant" to finance a $ based investment (Aerie) which actually appreciates in value... That said some of the banks got burnt in a big way when $ was R10:$1 and now have some serious exposure which is making it even harder for the little guys to get finance for that sunday flyer. :?

PS
Where did you find a house for R300k?

Nah, that was just an example. I was looking at buying a house in Howick early last year for that price. And I should have, same house is R660k now

It is scary though, first time homeowners in SA at the moment have a problem. If you live somewhere where your salary is high enough to be able to afford a house, then the houses available in that area are too expensive for you.... Hmmm. I'm planning to build here in Ballito later this year, but it's pretty daunting when you think that a k@k plot in the sticks is gonna cost you R500k
