Contentious - JAB 400 LSA

I happen to pay a well known airfield a visit this weekend and reserving my opinion about somethings

I observed a heated debate regarding the alteration of a Jab 400 to a Jab 200 to be allowed to fall into the LSA class.

Obviously being an unknown face or outsider, no one was even remotely going to listen to my opinion ..... especially as this has been a argumentative discussion point since the arrival of the Jab 400 at the airfield.
So..... WILL Len, Les or Stephan of JABIRU George please clarify the situation regarding the converting of a JAB 400 to a JAB 200 so that it can or will fall in the LSA class. Or will RAASA / CAA please show the way. Maybe GOFFEL can enlighten the aviators on what needs to be done so that they could have been spending valuable time on being more sociable....
What needs to be done (if it can be done) to make it all legal?

I asked Jab a while back.
Remove seats, redo paperwork and hey presto, but I am told that RAASA/CAA will not accept a converted J400 as a J200 only those "built" as J200's?
I can't see the problem....

So if Jabiru does the conversion in factory then there should be no reason that should give rise to contravening things..... after all it is NTCA!
So - who is there a RAASA chap on the forum? Must say I'm not chuffed with RAASA after trying to sort out something regarding the Cheetah. Obviously some official don't see the need to reply SMS's or return telephone calls!

No idea. RAASA always been excellent when I have dealt with them.... Fixed a couple oopsies without any BS (unlike CAA in past)....
Maybe sms is not the best method of comms? Chat to Willem or Pierre. Always been upfront and frank about any issues....

Well Willem is the culprit.... I phoned him, tried to sort out the issue with the Cheetah, the conversation went nowhere because of background noise on his side, sent him an sms with all my details to contact me as soon as he was back in the office so that I could resolve the issue. NOTHING.... so I just handed it back to Robin at Rainbow to sort out. Really not in the mood to get involved in a back and forth.... but that is my issue! The nature of my voluntary position and those that know me will know that I shall never be anything but upfront or frank!
Well, let Wildthing give us some guidance in the matter of Jabiru J-400 issue. There are pertinent reasons for this which I cannot really view on a public forum!

Well chaps... I have to apologise and maybe it would have been apt if I had just given him a call again!
Willem just called me and we'll surely get things sorted out in the legal & correct manner....
I owe you a

Willem and thanks for the call!
My impression of RAASA is most definitely restored......
Maybe Willem could also then shed some light on the JAB issue as well!

Willem & I reached a compromise today and is totally workable to get my Cheetah back in the air and to Springs....
Now back to the Jab issue - I think I'll give him a call tomorrow so that this can be addressed if he would directly on the forum for all to read!
