trike wing sail tester

Postby extra300s » Thu Apr 08, 2010 11:22 am

Hi guys. Whom in the Cape Town region has a tool to test ones trike wing sail? Are there many wings still flying that has passed the test being more than 12 years old?

Thanks
Karl

Hey Karl.

It's called a Bettsometer. My first trike wing was 13 years old and had still passed the test. Always hangared and put away straight after flying as the UV causes havoc with the fabric.

You been scarce lately. (^^)

Hi Andy

Yes, been busy trying to hide my urge to fly trikes again :-) Got a good deal on a trike again so might see me more here again. Just concerned about the wing. Who do u know of that replaces wing sails except solo wings?

Thanks

Gadget needs one as well. Yesterday after flying he noticed a small tear in the fabric at the wingtip. He touched it with his finger and the tear ripped bigger with almost no pressure

I believe Peter Wolf has one too at Morningstar. I know he is in Jhb at the moment. But it's worth a call.
