Saw on AvCom today that one of our friends in aviation was killed in a motor accident.
He was under the name of RV and had just bought a KR2 which he was restoring.
I just thought to mention it here as some of you might have known him.
We will miss this aviation friend.

Re: Death of Andre Klepper
I never met the man personally but had long chats with him and we assisted each other in business both ways. Andre you were a scholar and a gentleman in all aspects of the words.
My deepest condolences and wishes to your family and friends.
Aviation and life will miss you sorely.
God bless,

If you knew Andre and you haven't been onto Avcom, go there now and see the tributes to him. Pages and pages! What a guy!.

Re: Death of Andre Klepper
Andre my friend, Andy Graham broke the news to me by email and as I write these words the tears are falling for you. I am heartbroken
You were there to greet us at Jo'burgh Airport. You stood by us as we fought the incompetance and arrogance of the black man as we tried to recover our Bobby from customs. I can see you now telling them that your Lawyer will be attending if they don't sort themselves out For five hours we fought the battle until we won by just pushing them to one side and picking up our Bobby ourselves. Do you remember the customs official running after us frantically waving her bloody papers. Man that was soooooo bloody funny.
We then had trouble hiring a car, non were available but you found one for us and then you took us to your lovely home. You dined us, you refreshed us, you made us, total strangers to you, as welcome as anyone could on our first day in Africa and you continued to make us feel welcomed thereafter.
We know your life was filled with sadness and we could see the pain you felt when you spoke, but you were overcoming lifes obstacles and rebuilding the bricks one by one. The last picture I saw of you was a healthy young man getting his life together and the last words I said to you were "Looking good man"
Andre my friend, you never did get to visit us and I am going to miss you as a good mate who left us too early. March 30th will always be a sad day now and I will remember to light a candle for you.
Eish Andre, if you had to leave you should have left flying the deep blue you loved so much. May the one who took you from us rot in the burning pits of hell.
Fly high Andre, Fly High
RIP man

Eish Spuddy.... you bring tears to my eyes!
Andre & I shared some common things including the same hardship you refer to. We tried to support and encourage each other even though we had never met!
We had planned to meet this year when most of the dust had settled.... was not to be I am afraid - RIP mate!

I saw the thread on Avcom a few days ago, what a tragic loss. I met Andre several years ago and had the pleasure of flying with him on a few occasions.
Condolences to his loved ones.
