To form an e-mail based social network...........
aimed mainly at guys who fly trikes in and around Cape Town.
(Other planes, gyros, makes and models also welcome, if you can land and take off where trikes do) - or just interested.

NB. NO club, NO meetings, NO cost, NO affiliations, NO chairman, NO anything.

Just a communication network to facilitate and co-ordinate ideas such as attending...
Fly-Aways, (Arranged events)
Fly-ins, (Breakfast and a visit),
Pop-ins, Saturday mornings (Coffee and a Boerie roll) Informal and inexpensive........(with permission).
(e.g. Wintervogel, Morning Star, Fisantekraal, Diemerskraal, Altona, Malmesbury, Mooreesburg, Landbou College, Grootfontein, etc)

Find alternative places to visit, Structured and co-ordinated, fly inn with permission?
Cape Town International?
Ysterplaat?
Robben Island?
Private Wine farm Landing strips Etc
Stellenbosch Air Field
Aurora,
Shelley Point Golf Estate


Promote
Trike flying, Air safety, Good airmanship, Correct Radio procedures, joining and landing procedures etc.
Fly Togethers, Co-ordinate requirements to ensure safety at 'busy' airfield arrivals.
Assist visitors from other areas.

How is the replies / Interest thus far Grumpy ?

Grumpy spilled the idea last weekend at Wintervogel. Think it will raise good interest. I believe at the end everyone that joins will have at least everyones e-mail address at hand. So should you or your group decide to fly somewhere or arrange an outing or have something up etc, drop an e-mail to everyone on the list, even on short notice, and this way we may increase the social activity all around. At Wintervogel we often fly together and Grumpy's idea is to extend this by inviting and be invited to socials and information sharing at the drop of a hat with e-mail sharing. Adding to this is the other goeters he mentioned as well. I am in.

So, as a first, and 'trial run' we have a DROP IN, at Wintervogel. Saturday Morning. (13th) Weather is fine, wind 2knots SE so should be great.
Wintervogel runway has been cut and levelled and is in reasonable landing condition.

NOTES
Arrive around 8am
There will be NO ATC so please follow these instructions
Report 5 miles out
Enter at 1500 ft
Report Overhead Runway
Clockwise Circuit on west of runway 02/20 ---(NOT over chicken houses)
Right hand downwind for runway 20
Approach finals from north over small vineyard
Land on northern half of runway 20
Exit left immediately at crosing and taxi up to parking area.

ON OFFER -- R20.00
JUST BAKED Chicken & Mushroom OR Peppersteak Pie (NB Only 30 ordered.)
Fresh coffee. (Bottomless)

Lets SUPPORT and see how it goes and if we can get this idea up and running...................
