Please help...... Me is confused
I registered on the WEBO as explained in the Microflight magazine, BUT on the page where I select the payment method I get a message that online payment is not availible.
I also need to know where I can find the membership form that needs to be completed and forwarded to Misasa and Aeroclub....... OR is this not required ??
On the other hand what would happen if I just complete the application form on the Aeroclub site, pay R500 into the Aeroclub account (standard bank) and forward proof of payment to both Misasa and Aeroclub.
Please advise

In the past Aeroclub collected the fees for themselves and MISASA which wasnt ideal for us for various reasons. This year we made a decision to collect the fees for Misasa and Aeroclub. The webo site is used for Misasa members to register and update details which will make it easier for us to reconcile fee payments against a master membership base and the bank statement. Those of you that have registered on webo and paid will notice that I have changed your order status on webo to "payment received".
Once you have registered on webo (the entire process is explained in detail in the December issue of Microflight) you will receive an email that provides banking details for MISASA - you can then do an eft or direct deposit for R500 into the MISASA account (the website itself is not currently taking payments). We will then pay Aeroclub their R 250
So to make admin easier for us and Aeroclub, we urge you to register on weboonline.com/misasa/ and generate an order. The email will provide you with banking details to make an eft. If you choose for whatever reason not to register on webo and pay the MISASA account direct, please provide your name and membership number as reference. I've found a couple of people paying R500 without any reference. How on earth do I know who made that payment and allocate membership to that person??
Contact Jankelow direct for your 3rd party insurance. I will make sure that I send an updated payment shedule to Joanne on a weekly basis in order to activate your insurance.
Please email me
brett.hickman@standardbank.co.za if you have any other queries wrt above, its quite straight forward guys!!!

At the beginning of the last financial year the Aeroclub had some R50,000 of unallocated bank deposits. At the end of the financial year I asked the question at the AGM and the figure was down to R28,000. This is not the fault of the Aeroclub staff as it is a system/member challenge. Pilots pay their fees without providing a reference. To 'fix" the problem you have to phone every member or email them and ask for those that have paid to provide proof of payment. This is an admin nightmare. The problem is further "challenged" as about 350 members have not provided an email address. In addition many have incorrect email addresses and telephone numbers.
On the Webo website you are offered two off-line payment methods.
The first is EFT - here you are sent an order confirmation with banking details for you to EFT payment. Banking details are not provided on the internet for security reasons.
The second is Direct Deposit - here you are sent an order confirmation with banking details for you to go to a bank and to deposit the payment.
Online payment is not offered as MISASA does not have a Credit Card Merchant ID - this costs about R400 per month and if obtained the Website could offer online credit card payment - Please comment on this matter if you feel that it is necessary. On the
www.weboonline.com/misasa/ website see the tab "Feedback" here you have been invited to comment on the matter of MISASA offering credit card payment. So far there has been zero response on this matter.
THE PROCESS
Firstly you need to open a MISASA Webo membership account. This is necessary so that we get your contact details. You can update your details at any stage. You can also check your membership account in your "MEMBERS' PORTAL" to see if your payment has been received. This ensures that we can eMail you and it ensures that we are not spammed with orders on the MISASA website. Once you are registered you must activate your account by clicking on the link that is sent to you. This is necessary to confirm your eMail address. You only need to do this once. We have about 20% of people that have registered who have not provided correct / valid eMail addresses so their membership accounts are not validated. I have traced a few via telephone numbers to find that they did not want to provide an eMail address as they fear that we will sell the list of eMails. Eish I empathise but the alternative is licking stamps!
Secondly you need to place an order on the MISASA website. It is an order because of the off line payment method. At the stage of selecting the item on the online shop you have not paid and it is thus an order. If we did online payment you would get an invoice. When we reconcile, those that pay without a reference can be narrowed down and we will have an eMail address for outstanding orders to match with unknown deposits. Believe me, already pilots are paying without a reference being given. This means you will not get the magazine and other notices.
The magazine is clearly headed: THE PREFERRED METHOD OF PAYMENT IS AS FOLLOWS however if you do not want to do this on the CONTENTS PAGE of the magazine is a heading MISASA BANKING DETAILS. If you follow the latter option and do not provide a usable reference then you are destined to be one of the anticipated 50 members who will not get the magazine etc as we will have no way of knowing who you are. Many people provide useless references such as fees or MISASA etc or just no reference so it becomes money from Santa - thank you.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
The R500 option is for the Aeroclub and MISASA membership. You cannot belong to MISASA without being a member of the Aeroclub. The R250 option is if you have paid the Aeroclub amount to another sub-section eg the EAA then you need only pay the MISASA portion of R250.

***3rd Party*****
I have spoken to Joanne at DJ and she has confirmed that a faxed proof of payment to her will suffice for proof of membership. She is going to email me a list of applications and I will confirm with her all payments made to MISASA up to today as proof of membership. If you paid at RAASA or Aeroclub, you'll need to fax her proof of payment to activate your insurance. If you pay tomorrow or later either to MISASA or Aeroclub you need to fax proof of payment (MISASA/Aeroclub) together with the application and proof of payment to DJ to Joanne on 011 463 5551. Please use your aircraft registration as reference.
Hope this clears up the insurance issue.

I registered on Webo and gave the required details. I then made a separate EFT payment.
One thing that I noticed is that the Webo site does not ask for your MISASA member number. If they want clear the unallocated payments, then surely this should be one the fields required on the Webo form.

Hi,
Thanks for the input. Good point but so far no two pilots have the same name. We have the numbers and match names to numbers. We recommend that membership numbers are used on the EFT reference doc.

I went to the offices at Rand Airport on 7 December 2009, showed them my membership renewal notice and paid my R500. They couldn't give me a new MISASA membership card - I can't see why not and it really tees me off - but they promised to post it to me. Now more than a month later I still don't have a card.
I have registered on Webo and I have looked at my membership portal but I can't see anything which says my membership fees have been received. I'm a trifle (well maybe more than a trifle) dof technically so perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place or something.
The receipt I was given for the fees was an Aeroclub receipt so maybe they have made off with the cash and that's why nothing seems to be happening! The receipt number is 15469 if there is anybody out there who is interested.
My view is that if I have to belong, and I have for 10 years, then for goodness sake make it easy for me. Its not as if on the 7 December 2009 nobody knew that people would be paying fees and wanting their membership cards and that's why they couldn't give me one. I have been able to get my card immediately in the past.

Hi Tony
Thanks for paying your fees promptly. I only have access to the MISASA bank account and can therefore only reconcile with WEBO against payments made into that account. We are having a meeting on Monday to discuss such issues and I'll certainly provide feedback on what we decide going forward. Membership cards will be issued shortly!!

Hi Guys,
What is the cost for the 3rd party this year. Is it part of our membership or is it seperate?. From the previous post it sound like it's included but I cannot find any info on the DJ site regarding this.
Thanks
