NEW YEAR'S BREKKIE AT ELANDS QUAD CAMP.

Postby Blue Max » Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:42 pm

The above event was my third attempt to get to know more of you guys who share my love for flying.
First one was: 'Fly away to Loskop Valey.
Second was: ' More than just a Breakfast..
Third was,:' New Years Brekkie at Elands Quad camp ..There could have been more events , I cant remember..!!
In total I only managed to lure about 4 pilots to come and visit..
Excuses, Excuses, Excuses....
Yesterday some-one told me that 3 gentleman from Springs flew to Groblersdal, stretched their legs and returned back to Springs...
Why did they not come to Elands? There was nothing on at Groblersdal and not even a cooldrink to purchase.
I have build a Runway, a crosswind runway, a hanger and two self catering pilot cabins for those amongst you who want to come and enjoy the blue skies and zero gravity that our valey has to offer...
What is the problem??????? I would like to rectify.!!!!!
Of is julle net suiwer BANGGATTE om die entjie van die rand na die plaas te vlieg???????

Hi Paul,
I was one of those who said I would pop in today, but as per my phone call this morning, Met office forecast rain over your area from 10:00am.(Not sure if it materialised)
Soos jy weet is ek nie bang vir die lang-pad nie.
Ek sal weer kom kuier, belowe.
glen

ps: Guys, Paul has taken a lot of trouble to make his spot micro-light friendly. It truly is worth a visit.

How long are the runways and how annoying are the quads?
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

:) :) Thanks gentlemen I am starting to feel so mutch better...
The runway is 400 m and there is a crosswind runway of about 300m aswell.
Look at my avator, the co-ordinates are there and there is also an entry under Destinations..( Bushveld week-end destination).
The quads and quad bikers are not a problem as the Pilot cabins are adjoyning the hanger and their accommodation are seperate from the bikers..
Dont feel to bad okes, just want to make sure you know about us..!!!!
Very recently completed the second Pilot cabin and will try and post a photo..( Sorry photo.s to big)
Thanks for now.

Hi Blue. Thats correct. Three of the Manne van Staal flew the Loskop and landed at Groblersdal as one needed some fuel. We managed to share the fuel on board and saved a trip into town. After the coffee we recieved two calls from Springs about low cloud moving in. That put an end to our local flip for the day and we pointed the noses straight for Springs with a 24mph tailwind at 6000ft.
If the wife phones we fly a little longer, if the wx starts moving in we try to get back asap....... vhpy vhpy

Next time, promise, we like flying the Loskop and its just far enough for a local trip!

Sorry Blue

I needed to fuel up and the wx was getting quite crap. But we will most definately pop in some time for a brekkie.

Cheers
