Has anybody towed a caravan with a trailer hitched behing it. I was thinking it would be nice to take the caravan and the trike in tandem on holiday in later this month. Can this be done and how safe is it actually?

I have n' Triton 2.5 4x4, and tried to tow n' flat-bed quad trailor and behind that another quad trailor with the trike.
You are going to be very tired when you get to your destination !!
I would not recommend doing it.
Not with the state of our roads now.

Yes you can.Enough horse power in front,do not get frustrated or wreckless/speeding and let the caravan supplier/manufacturer do the tow hitch, otherwise your warrantee will expire!

I heard at some point it was illegal now so just check with the law first.

I Fitted a towbar to my Jurgens Fleetline and have been towing a double axle trailer filled to capacity behind the caravan with 4l prado at 100km/h for the last 5 years for 350km to holiday destination and 350km back no problem just keep caravan and trailer nose heavy and in a forward slant.
