Congrats to Gadget

Yesterday morning 05h30, when the rest of the world was snoring I pulled BosBefokker out of the Hangar. Gadget and I were on our way up to Saldanha so that he could do his Bush Baby conversion.
Air was crisp and cool, not a movement from the sock, so we took off 02 and routed straight out for Saldanha, 64 Miles away ETE 45min.
Gadget took a nice sunrise shot as she peaked through the clouds and a good morning to the mountain. We climbed through 1000ft and it warmed appreciably, 22 deg C at 05h45. Hmm inversion going to be bumpy later plus a hefty 20-25mph tailwind
we scooted through a silent FAD200 and onto a quiet coast. Just before Yserfontein we saw some folks riding horses on the beach. After Yserfontein, we descended to 100ft and cruised up in the cool, sea breeze along the beach. At the lagoon called Langebaan AFB and not even the airforce were awake. Eventually on changing to local saldanha frequency did we pick up two students doing their bit. The tailwind resulted in a 35min flight time.
As usual Johan Froneman was very accommodating, offering us coffee. Eventually Gadget and Johan jumped in BosBefokker and away they went. First time in the left seat for Gadget. AFter the usual conversion exercise, they landed and the paperwork was done.
Eventually at 08h00, we reluctantly jumped back in, said our good byes and Gadget brought us home. I SMS'd work to say I am going to be a bit late, because I was flying
. This time the temps had risen to a healthy 37deg C at 1000ft
Going to be a hot day. fortunately the wind had turned as well so we did not have a 25mph headwind to contend with
08h45, landed at MS, and packed her away
Congrats Gadget my mate,
