Record Attempt Fly-in At Bethlhem 28 & 29 August

EAA Convention on the 28th August at Bethlehem as well as the Bethlehem Airshow on the 29th August would like to invite all Microlighters to join us and try to set a Record for the largest number of Aircraft to fly into a single event in South Africa.
I think that the current record is around 360 aircraft at one of the Sun & Fun events at Margate.
All types of Aircraft and Aviation disciplines are invited to join us.

It is time to start polishing those birds for the EAA Fly – Inn (Convention AGM) hosted by Chapter 322 on the 28th & 29th August at Bethlehem with the Bethlehem Airshow on the 29th.

09H00 Registration Coffee at EAA members tent.
Helicycles arriving
Microlights arriving & Gyro Copters arriving.

10H00 RAASA AP seminar in Gelofte fees hall: Pierre, Neil, and Johan Lok
10H00 Careers presentation for school pupils in Marquis by JAAP groups, Will get coordinator to assist throughout the day.
10H00 Young Eagles flights to start – Possibly all day. Christa
11h00 Francois Jordaan & Robin Coss on Metal &Composite Airframe maintainance & inspections
12H00 Bateleurs flying for environment forum: Jeremy Woods to Coordinate
13H00 Garmin 296 GPS forum: Karl Jensen
14H00 SAPFA mini Navigation Rally Approx 1 hr flight Mary de Klerk for those who want to take part
15H00 Airshow practice & validations by Airshow safety officer (EAA members wanting to fly in the Airshow to get prior approval from Safety Officer)
16H00 RV Mass formation Jeff Earle Briefing & fly past for RV pilots
17H00 RAASA Braai & Cash Bar. At member’s tent or Gelofte fees Hall to be finalised
Saturday 29th August.
Early Morning Hot Air Balloon departures.
Arrivals until 09H30 thereafter sterile airspace
Saturday arrivals to register at member tent.
10H00 Airshow starts
12H00 Judging of Aircraft to start, please register with Judges at members tent.
EAA members have a hospitality area in front of members stent to view the Airshow
Departure slots to be planned with Airshow Safety officer & ATC beforehand.
16H00 EAA AGM Gelofte fees Hall Across road. Gavin van den Berg To do Agenda and communications.
16H00 EAA Braai fires start with Cash Bar to keep friends & guests entertained during AGM
17H00 Braai & Cash Bar

Bethlehem is very central to Gauteng, Mpumalanga, KZN, Vrystaat, in with 100 to 150 nm from most of the major centers and 200 nm from some of the further outlying centers.
EAA has invited MISASA, SAGPA, SAPFA, and all other sections to join us in this year’s Convention, so we will have of the Microlighters, Gyro, Hot Air Balloons, etc flying into this year’s event.
322 Chapter would like to make this one of the biggest gatherings of aircraft af all types to fly into a single event in South Africa As in the old day of Sun & Fun at Margate with 300 to 400 aircraft attending so please spread the word to all EAA members as well as anyone you know that flies, pushes, builds and operates any form of aircraft.
Anybody wanting to display/exhibit their products at the display area or in the Young Eagles Career Expo please let me know so that I can send a Display application form.
