Microlighting traditions (100 hours due soon)

Postby MILO » Thu Aug 06, 2009 3:54 pm

I am probably opening myself up for some inventive thinking - but here goes.
I have heard that skydivers dive nude for the 100th jump (man that sounds all wrong/right but you know what I mean). Are there any other traditions out there?
What do Trikers do? How do you christen the new trike, solo, 100 hours, conversions & so on?
We dragged a good friend after he went solo - through to the Keg in his flight suit on a nice hot summers day and made sure he kept cool with large amounts of castle antifreeze (^^) . He will NEVER forget that day.
He tells me flight suits are chick pullers, a killer combination when combined with "I is a pilotsh". Fortuantely I was not around when he went solo in the R22, mind you they drink sparkling mineral water don't they?
If you can fly today - leave everything else for tomorrow

Tradition in Grahamstown is a nude flight of at least 10 minutes with photographer to take pic's of you doing it as proof
1000 hours is you and a nude passenger with the photographer again for proof.

Flying the 100 hour naked is the only time a (male) triker will have a joystick within easy reach - but....... don't be tempted. You cannot join the mile-high club flying solo.

On your 1000th, however, you are welcome to try...........

Then there is the Air Force tradition to chuck you cloths and all in a mud bath after your 1st solo.
