Mike, James & the Team are flying around the world !!

Postby Morph » Wed Jul 08, 2009 10:32 am

Just 5 days to go before Mike and James fly their new D6 Sling around the world, stopping at Oshkosh. (^^) (^^)

You can follow their progress on their website (http://www.airplanefactory.co.za)

They have Google Earth plugins and full details of the route etc

There are some hectic over sea distances, 4044km (2512 miles) over the Atlantic, and to this end they have installed additional long range tanks into the wings, giving them an additional 170liters plus the original 105.

Good luck guys, we will be tracking you all of the way

It's not that Airplane - they have built another one - basically production model 01. Thing is it wasn't even finished yet on staurday - they really are cutting it close. But good luck - they are going to need lots of it.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Hi there. We have updated the http://www.airplanefactory.co.za/world website, and you will see details on the Aircraft page of the long range tanks, and the Gallery page contains photos of the test flight.

Seeing as this is such a significant and prestigous event in South African aviation, I am going to make this a sticky so that it stays on top of the page.

Agent/Low Level, sounds like a great idea to me! I must just plan it so that I am not out of town but that should be easy.

So, Low Level, hoe laat sal ons vertrek?
