28 Feb & 1 March 2009

If you want to know what I was up to this weekend you can
1) have a look at http://www.zu-dve.com and click on the 20090301 log,

Or

2) click on the Position tag, which will take you to my current position (or last if I have landed)...click on the map and this will take you to http://gpsed.com/user/zudve where you will be able to click on my latest track (with pictures added by geopositioning)

Or

3) If you just want to look at pictures, you can go to
http://picasaweb.google.com/hildene3 where all the pictures are listed. Clicking on a picture, will take you via GPSed to the geotagged position.

Today I flew for the first time with Karl - after waiting for the f%gging fog to lift. Karl is doing his solo hours with Louis (after initial help from Graham) before getting his license.

Hey Karl, how was it up there in the stratospere?

See http://www.zu-dve.com for the log 2009007 and click on Position (and the map on there) to be directed to the GPSed website, where the tracks, plus lots of pictures are saved.

Or

And Karl maybe you should be known as SimplyRed or RedRedRed?

22 February. A perfect day to tackle those mountains, with the help of Graham, Francois, Hans, Shane and Dick. Shane turned around, bladder problems or 503? and Hans cut the flip short 'cause he had pojieobligations. After Worcester, we flew to Tulbach. A perfect flip. See the log (http://www.zu-dve.com) or the track (http://gpsed.com/track/499311286329489863)

1 April 2009. The two fools did not answer their emails. So I took to the skies. Alone. Lovely day. See http://www.zu-dve.com for log and http://www.gpsed.com/user/zudve for the track.

Fogged in at first, but thereafter a nice 1:20 flip. See http://www.zu-dve.com for the log, and
http://www.gpsed.com/track/499311287544066928 for more of the track and pictures.

Luckily the fog kept Peter and Deon grounded as well, so I could use their expertise. I recently fit a new battery, and now the voltage is dropping, and I get a warning when flying, esp when I use the radio or GPS. So I guessed it is the coils or the regulator. Deon got his ammeter out, and soon could asure me that my problem is the cheaper of the two.

The above picture is awesome. In fact many are - why not send me a portfolio of pictures for a double page spread in Microflight Africa.

AND

What about providing us with a master copy of a video on flying in the Western Cape for copies to be made and issued with the next Edition of Microflight Africa magazine?

PRETTY PLEASE!

Fly safe

I agree,

Gert you put in so many hours and give so much pleasure with your pictures that It would be a fitting tribute that your pics go in the magazine.

Good suggestion Alan.
