Coool!!!

Let's make sure that structurally the wing and airframe can take any punishment.

We are not going for 80m/ph or 100m/ph, we are going for 120m/ph +
Nice pics Alex and congrats so far.

In the interests of SAFETY

I SERIOUSLY hope you aren't using a dacron wing. That would be total suicide. Dacron has been proven to NOT react fast enough to changing airflow at that speed and WILL AND HAS TORN resulting in loss of life.

If you are going to do those speeds USE stronger materials - PERIOD - NO IF'S and BUTS. You don't want ANY manufacturer cutting corners by using INFERIOR materials to save costs.

Please guys, we are the customers and must tell the manufacturers what WE want.

After an accident we all ask what have we learnt - well let this be one of them.

Hi Alex

Awesome setup you have there and the tooling and workmanship appear to be tops! Unfortunately I could not see the pod, as you had it in for finishing when Dawid and I visited you some 3 weeks ago. Sorry I failed to mention my Forum nickname, since we had some words way back and you are one big mother and there were some nasty moering tools lying around

Nice meeting you, and if anyone else has something to say about the fact that you spell like your ass, he will have to deal with me personally!

Cheers

Dieselfan
I spoke to Jenya a couple of days ago and he mentioned that the material he is using is very expensive so I doubt if it is dacron, must be something very superior as he mentioned 60K to make a wing. I have a lot of respect for him after he made me a wingsail which is flying like a dream and he came to my airfield 3 months later just to check everything out.
He knows what he's doing. He is also making wings for Solo Wings.

   I enjoyd that, Bacardi I told you Alex is the salt of the earth, spells like his ass, and let's be thankfull that he is one of the nicest guys around as he is one BIG MOTHER of a boerseun

Dieselfan, I echo you sentiments on Dacron at 120mph, glad Jenya is using other material - Probably Trilam than? I know the Ixess wing is made from trilam and some other modern wings are made of something called Hydranet - I am told both these materials are stronger and outperform Dacron

I'm glad to hear that Boer 8) . 60k...and people were moaning about iXess costing 60k. Show's you that materials do make a large part of the cost and not just "brand" name.

I eagerly await the Thunderbolt! The trike looks Sexxi.

Hi Guys

Thanks to you for all the advice, I really appreciate it. Boer the guys involved are Peter Göldner, Jenya (on the wings), Me, (Conrad was with us but unfortunately he had to leave us for some other work he got), Mike (AP), Philip (Engineer), Seun Snyman (painter and body shaping "Cullinan Panelbeaters"), Nico Muller and if I let out somebody please help me remember. I also just want to take the time to say thanks to all of them for getting us throe this project we are so close to flying them. I hope this answers your questions guys.

Hi RV4ker

Yes the Thunderbolt ST will be a 912 S with a Topless wing (ST) and we will have for the UK guys a 912 with a topless wing (Thunderbolt T). The 582 “Whirlwind” will also be available as a trainer with a normal wing. 8)

I owe you an apology Alex...I reckoned you would not come up with the goods but I have been proven wrong. As have many others on this forum. It goes to prove that a man is innocent until proven guilty. And the okes said you are a BIG boy so I don't want to get bliksemed either.

Good luck with completing the project.

Hi Slysi

Not a problem it took us 2 to 3 months to set up a proper work shop and we then started to build the microlights so it takes time. Relax we are all enjoying it to fly and I am going to give my best to all the microlight guys in the world I can after 12 years experience in the microlight industry say I put all my experience in two microlights. Let’s hope it only gives the pilots fun thats flying them.
