Vrydagoggend jagplaas toe gevlieg - 60miles, 40 minutes. Vanoggend terug - 50 minutes - maar bietjie afge-"slag" deur Zebediela gap - bietjie turbulence gehad!
I am getting accustomed to the trimmer now - very lekker to take of on slowest setting - get airborne quickly and climb like a bat out of hell! Then when on track, trim airspeed faster. In smooth air - I trim her to 70 mph IAS on my dial - any faster and it becomes difficult to keep the nose from "walking around" and induce oscillation. The front wheel on the Cobra proofs itself as an excellent rudder at this speed!

When things get a bit bumpy, I trim her down to 65 - which still leaves room for going 70 by just putting a bit of back pressure on the bar, but makes it easy to get to 65 by releasing pressure when bumps hit. I love this. I can cruise at respectable speed, but I can also trim her airspeed down to 50- 55 mph and fly her more "playfully" - like with Geel Kerneels.
With the 582 - you do however naturally pay a price for flying 70 mph - fuel consumption. Straight and level @ 6000 rpm. Well, - you get there faster so... At slower speed settings the revs is on par with what I experienced with my Aquilla.
