Safe flying guys, The Straydog is straying to Cradock this morning after attending to some s#$t. The Straybitch and puppies left by by car early this morning.
Found the Straydog sitting on my back lawn early this morning sipping a cup of coffee, very irretated because he could have been airborn if it wasnt for the s#$t he had to attend to. I am sure you okes will see him somewhere allong the route. After all he is known to stray from tree to tree to make his mark.

Now if you had told me this part of the plans I would have left a week ago (in my Aquilla) so that I could arrive in St Francis the same time as the GT gaggle to partake is such pleasures. I always get the the good news late!! I wonder if they do this on purpose? Could never be, these are mates of mine, they wouldn't do that to me?

Spoke to John earlier, they had to land at Wavecrest. They ran into westerly gale winds. Wind caught me out in Port Alfred this morning as well, took off 05h45 wind on ground calm, but about 150 to 200 feet in the air was a complete coaster ride  . Flying east ias 55mph ground speed 99 to 105mph. On my return at 07h45 had to work my butt off for the landing with wind 20knots gusting 25 about 10 deg crosswind on runway.

Weather permitting will take off early tomorrow with softness and DVD Camcorder to try and get some footage of them arriving in Port Alfred.

Had I known this I would never have brought my lightie with me to the site meeting tomorrow. Now I gotta be back in Jhb on Friday, else I could have been "delayed" (blaming the dam WX), coulda picked you up at LF on Friday at 3PM and we could have been at ST F by 6 to warm said jaergermeisies and calm their nerves and had you back in Debbin by Sun morning..... puff puff puff puff

PS
Demon I am assuming (as usual) the camera will malfunction at appropriate time (like when the topless chicks flash you at the dam) thus rendering all of us drooling in dispare...

YIP I am still grumpy as hell I am not along for the ride (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) . Glad you guys got out OK. I left a bit later (I don't do mornings) going East from JHB and the WX was very KAK.....

ABANDONED!!

I landed at Wavecrest to check out the runway for my mates. John sexy touched down close on my heels.
John decided he had enough for now and needed a break. Actually he was happy to spend to night alone under his wing at this stage.
Rietfontein tradition is to never abandon anyone. Not today. Sorry G we are outa here. Every man for himself.
Sexy was not budging. So we tied the airies. I went off to find norishment. Sexy john had a sleep to recover from a sleepless night thanks to my snoaring.
A while later the fog bank receeded and we took off for East London. It turned into a superb flight. The Wild Coast line truly is magnificent and unspolit.

It was quite a full day.

Firstly Chokey......Oh sorry thats Buzz who has been renames chokey for the balance of the trip. Cannot tell you why. He flew from Light Flight to Margate with his choke full open. So Chokeys alarm goes off at 3h30 so that he can take a dump. I mean F#$k who sets his alarm to have a shit? So now we awake from 3h30 so we wake up the rest of the guests etc.

6am we on thne way back to Margate airport. Lift off about 7 or so.ice conditions with a slight tail push. After an hour we put down on top of the mountain at Port St Johns and have a break and talk some crap.

We take off again and our tail wind is gone to later be replaced by a 30mph headwind. With a south westerly off the sea its still fairly smooth flying but alas JY was running out of steam after been left for a sleepness night with Big G cutting down the Knysna forest. More about that later but Big G and JY stopped at Kob Inn and the rest of us pushed through.

We hit some low mist for about 15 minutes and had to stick just offshore at about 100 ft. It then cleared and we had a nice flight in to Robertsvale in EL. John Waterson was fantastic and hospitable. He fed us and gave us tea while we waited 3 hours for the stragglers. He has a very nice factory where the Savannah is manufactured. We got a tour and as a budding soon to be kit builder, it was very interesting.

Having a braai with Mom and the hooligans and JY and we look forward to St Francis tomorrow.

Demon, 3,2 Jaegiemeisies each. Thanks mate. Some pics to follow

I had landed about 30 minutes earlier at Kei Mouth with a student in a skyranger and was waiting for the inversion layer that came rolling in with mist to lift off the airfield when I saw you gents flying past seawards of the coastline - Although the wind was fairly strong, it was consistent - pity you didn't elect to land at Kei Mouth (Although you wouldn't have got in then, a Bonnie from Gauteng had to divert to East London about 3 minutes prior)- a few of the slummies aviators were at the airfield. We then had lunch at the golf course club house and flew back to flamingo (Near John Waterson's Robertvale airfield about an hour and a half later)
