Please note: No food/drinks vendors will be allowed on the day and visitors may not bring in their own coolerboxes for the day, with the exception of your braaimeat for the Sat evening. If you have a special diet/religious requirements, please contact Wilma (FAKT Restaurant) and make the necessary arrangements, she can be reached on 0h764912109.

Hi Bundy.

With all due respect. I think this sucks. I'm bringing my whole family along. What do you think this is going to cost me. Will I have to purchase tokens for the toilets too. This is going one step to far.

I'm sure John will advise us if the Kitty Hawk members derive any benefit from bar sales or whether it’s a private business in which case I don't have such a moral conscious of bringing a bottle and mix.

Last time we finished all the stock and mix by 17h00 and you know when Skin starts, his legs become hollow.

All sounds like fun!

Bundy, with the absence of any air show, will we be able to arrive and depart at will throughout the day?

I'll let Bundy respond to the food & drink issue.

Let me just say this... MISASA is getting the use of the facilities at no charge. We have volunteers doing a lot of work at no charge... The facility was chosen because of the infrastructure and agreed to by the trustees of Kitty Hawk.... come now chaps lets get real here! I'm going to support the folk because of the preparations they have make. Also to note, the liquor license is bound to their premises.

How we do it this year determines how we do it next year (or not!)

As for aircraft movements - arrivals and departures - no restrictions UNLESS otherwise advised by ATC (AFIS). We will finalize procedures closer to the event.

Freddie, there is no need for sarcasm mate.

John has responded and I don't have much to add....the restaurant is taking on great financial risk to prepare for this with NO GARUANTEE of success should the weather bomb out. They have gone way beyond what Misasa asked for.... at their own cost....
Considering there is no entrance fee, I don't think it's unreasonable at all.

Sorry you feel that way but despite my best efforts I cant please everybody.

Having spent a few days at FAKT now, I must advise that visiting aircraft brink a tie down kit as well as a set of chocks. The area designated for the trikes/Gyro's is on a bit of a gradient.

Chocks are always a good idea....ask Lucas (Toppie) what happened at Secunda last year because of no chocks and wind. ##

I have looked at the facebook for the lodge, why is it moved from Tedderfield, looks more like a wedding venue than a airfield! I see now whty they dont want food and drinks, they want to flog the wares of the lodge. Now if i know the thugs in question, my money is they will fly in contraband..go for it..because you can! I prefer Teddefield..

Paul, the lodge is simply on the same property and definitely the closest one. 300M walk from the clubhouse....and the lodge has nothing to do with the food catering on the day. FAKT is NO WEDDING VENUE mate, probably one of the nicest privately run airfields in the East with first class facilities. Here is the Aerodrome website:

http://www.fakt.co.za/

Here are some more options a little further away. There are literally 100's of Guest houses within 15-20 min drive of the Aerodrome. Many options to browse on Google. Here are a few I found, please feel free to post some of your own too. :)

Ndlovu Lodge.
