That's a beautiful A22 Foxbat, very expensive but very nice. Seeing he's flying in the Western Cape, the pilot of this pic might just be the same person I bought my Mizer from?

If so, nice to see you enjoy your new toy so much - stunning looking cockpit.

Well spotted Henni!

It is indeed the A-22 Foxbat, ZU-RON, belonging to Ron Coburn.

It is a great machine - I wish I had one!

Hope you are enjoying the mizer.

Bummed back seats on trikes heading for the coast

Postby John Young » Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:21 am

Yesterday "The Monster" my grandson and I bummed back seats on trikes heading for the coast.

Shame - the little guy doesn't get a chance to fly that often anymore (until the new trike arrives).

Nicow
Friday morning was good for flying....I was above the clouds for more than 2 hours in my trike.
So, how many of you saw the halo around Nicow's trike?

I have often seen photos where there is a halo around a trike when flying in cloudy conditions. What causes this phenomenon? Is it the disturbance of water molecules that obviously get reflected back to ones eye similar to a rainbow?
I sometimes get confused............But i'm not sure

Halo

The antisolar point or anthelic point is the imaginary point on the celestial sphere exactly opposite the Sun. It is where anticrepuscular rays appear to converge, and on a moonless night away from city lights, it is often possible to see the gegenschein there. The apex of a rainbow will also form roughly 42 degrees above the location of the antisolar point.

But closer to what we observe check out the following :

How glad am I that we MPL's don't have to do that "english proviciency test".

Hi Bad Nav,

Afrikaans please man, I don't understand a thing, and then they say that "we" pilots are not nuclear scientists. ;);) ;);)

It is an optical phenomenon which creates a bright spot around the shadow of the viewer's head. This is when you are in the "hun in the sun" position. In dewy or cloudy situations, the drops cause light to be defracted in manner that it passes through a prism - learnt that at school didn't we - giving you refraction - giving you the colours of the rainbow - thus giving you what is called a "glory" halo....

I just know when I am being prepped for an April fools day!
