GPS

Postby andreb » Sun Mar 11, 2007 2:59 pm

Sorry Cobra, didn't have GPS with. DF can you help?
Easy to find. If you know the 702 red and white tower on top of the mountain to the East of Harties. Well they are about 1 mile to the NNE of the tower and right next to the new N4 highway. If you follow the N4 highway, they are across from the chicken farms and halfway between the Brits toll plaza and where the N4 become dual highway.
They use the 123.45 chat frequency for their local frequency.
Airfield is always manned by someone, so they can help if you have an emergency...or you just thirsty. Runway runs East to West. Grassed.
Be aware that weekdays there is sometimes cattle on the runway (saves lawnmower costs). I know this as I drive past there every day.
Hope this helps.

Co-ords

Postby andreb » Sun Mar 11, 2007 3:27 pm

You don't perhaps have co-ords for AP and JAG?

AP - S25 41.6 E027 46.9
JAG - S25 36.6 E028 32.3

Hereby a Garmin waypoint file with 879 airfields in SA - Open with Mapsource and then upload to the GPS.

Please note that this file is "foetstoots" I'm not responsible if you fly North instead of South

Thanks Cobra.
I started a forum for other points of interest and waypoints. You may want to add your file to that as well.

MOST POWERFUL EMAIL I EVER GOT

I had on new clothes,
New sneakers on my feet.
I was there for class on time,
Went to the back and took my seat.

Yeah, I'm moving up,
I'm already grown.
Soon I'll be graduating,
And out on my own..

I talked to some of my friends,
We were all having fun.
Said some things I shouldn't have said.

Did stuff I shouldn't have done.

I knew I was different..
I felt God touch my heart,
I knew I should set a standard,
But then I'd be set apart.

Walking to the bus, I was not looking for strength.
I heard the car tires screeching,
But now it's too late.

I'm standing in this room,
And I can see the heavenly gate..
Oh no! I never prayed.
I thought I had time to get it straight!

An angel walked to me,
He had a book in his hand.
I knew it was the Book of Life,

When would this dream end?

I told him my name,
And he began to look.
Then he looked at me sadly and said,
Your name is not in this book.

Angel, this is a dream,
No, I can't be dead!
He closed the book and turned away,
He whispered - You cannot
proceed ahead.

No...no this can't be real,
Angel, you can't turn me ! away.
Let me talk to God,
Maybe he'll let me stay.

He led me to the gate,
Jesus came to me.
He did not let me in but said,
Beloved what is your need?

Jesus, I cried, please,
Don't cast me away from you.
Tears ran down his face as he said,
You knew what you needed to do.

Lord, please I'm young,
I never thought I would die..
I thought I'd have plenty of time,
Death caught me by surprise.

Lord, I went to church,
Please Jesus, I believe.
He said you would not accept me,
My love you would not receive.
Lord, there were too many
hypocrites. They weren't being true.

He took a step back and asked,
What does that have to do with you?

Lord, my family claimed to be
saved, They weren't real. You know.

He said, I died for you,
Now I have to go.

I fell to my knees crying to Him,
Lord, I planned to be real tomorrow.

I couldn't make Him understand,
I had never felt such sorrow.

Then it hit me hard, I said,
Lord, where will I go?

He looked into my eyes and said,

My child you already know.

Please Jesus, I begged,
The place is so hot.
It seemed to trouble and grieve him,
He whispered, DEPART FROM ME,
I KNOW YOU NOT.

Lord, you're supposed to be love,
How can you send me to damnation?

He replied, With your mouth you said you loved me,

But each day you rejected my salvation.

With that in an instant,
Day turned into night.

I never knew such torture could be,

Now too late,

I know the Bible is right.

If I can tell you anything,
Hell has no age.

It is a place of torture,
Separated from God !

and full of rage.

You know, I thought it was funny, a joke,

But this one thing is true.

So please, ask Him into your heart.

One evening an old man told his son about the battle that goes on inside each and every person. He said “Son, the battle is between 2 wolves inside us all.

One wolf is evil = It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, guilt, lies and ego.

The other wolf is good = It is joy, peace, love, serenity, humility, kindness, faith, compassion, truth and hope.”

The son asked his father: “Which Wolf wins?”………The old man replied ...

“The one YOU feed”

God's 26 Guards

Here's a message that will bring you chills. Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said, "I'll pray for them later?"

Or has anyone ever called you and said, "I need you to pray for me, I have this need?"

Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that you may think about prayer and also the way you pray.

You will be blessed by this.

A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan .

"While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point.

On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital.

Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord.

I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident...

Two weeks later I repeated my journey.

Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said, 'Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs.

But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.

The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.'

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened.

The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story:

"On the night of your incident in Africa , it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?"

The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw.

There were 26!

This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in mysterious ways. If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it.

Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell. I encourage you to forward this to as many people as you know.

If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly illustrates, "with God all things are possible".

More importantly, how God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.

After you read this, please pass it on and give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life... and then pass it on. Who says God does not work in mysterious ways

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way. His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him our cares you know He will see us through.

So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best, Just remember I'm here praying, and God will do the rest.

Kies selfrespek …..
nie selfbejammering nie.

Daar is byna geen probleem
wat geduld nie kan oplos nie ……
en geen droom wat geduld nie
tot oorwinning kan laat lei nie.

Sien die moontlikhede binne jouself raak
en gryp dit met albei hande vas.

Maak jou lyding ‘n deurgang,
nie ‘n doodloopstraat nie.

Wees dankbaar vir al die storms
in jou lewe wat uitgewoed,
oorgewaai, of by jou verbygegaan het
en jou nooit seergemaak het nie.

Elke probleem is tydelik.
Elke vallei het sy laagtepunt.
Bereik dit, en daar is slegs een manier
om van daardie punt af te beweeg,
en dis opwaarts.

Lewe is groei.

Tyd staan vir niemand stil nie.
Stel jou doelwit en droom
soveel jy kan!
Laat los –
en laat God Sy Wil geskied.

Kyk na jou onvolmaaktheid
en respekteer jouself in elk geval.

As jy goed is ….
Is jy goed ….
As jy nie goed is nie ….
Is jy maar net ‘n mens.

Die opwindende pad
is die nou pad wat deur die berge
kronkel.
Dis die nou pad deur die tuin
wat na die afgeleë plekkies lei.
