Heya Tumbleweed,
Afirmative on that one, you need to depart SA from an official port of entry...
Cheers

Re: Swazi fly away
I rigged my plane at Matsapha, didnt seem to be a problem. The fire brigade all had flips after i rigged it. There is a lodge within walking distance of the gate through to the club. Esibayeni lodge. Reasonable rates. That is if you can get past the clubhouse...
If you are there in the next few weeks i may bump into you..
If atc are not awake its easier to take off from the taxi way...

Re: Swazi fly away
Zulu1,
did you trailer in? and if so what sort of permitting did you need to get in place and what did you do at the borders? When did you do this, so I have a time frame reference?
In talking to people flying there, I get the impression that NTCA is a problem there with respect to registration etc, as they are expecting people to go through certified processes... So any input would be appreciated...
Also, I spoke to Andrew Pappas about their trips in, and his comment was that the permitting costs have become too expensive to make it worthwhile...
Any comments woudl be appreciated... I will be in Swazi for a couple of days in the next 2 weeks, not sure when... then I will most likely be there for 2-3 weeks at a time over the next 5 months... So getting my trike in and being able to fly there really would be good to do... don't know if I could survive 3 weeks without flying...
The place I stay has a grass runway (Panata Ranch, just east of Sikuphe their new airport...) so I would essentially base my self from there...
