Re: New AX Sport
That price was for the Italian Dallair FR1, which is now built and marketed by none other than ..... Tecnam! The Italian Dallair FR1 in Kit form costs around R450K, with a
a factory buit one coming in at around R850K. This excludes. Shipping, VAT etc.
Will be interesting to see what our local offering comes in at.

Re: New AX Sport
There may also be another locally produced aerobatic aircraft on the market soon. Holding Thumbs.
I'll try and find a pic.

Re: New AX Sport
Talk is that it will be sold as a BASIC kit only. i.e. composite shells. Still early days.
Designed for the serious aerobatic enthusiast only.
It looks similar to the Rhin One Design, well ..... kind of!
Beautifully built - I ABSOLUTELY fell in love with it.

Re: New AX Sport
The Icon has been around for some years now but production has as far as I know not begun. Many deposits have however been taken. I do hope it does not end in tears. I fully agree that it has very classy styling.
They have run a flawless marketing campaign and created a lot of hype around the aircraft. That's all good and well. I was talking to one of the aeronautical engineers working on the icon at Oshkosh last year and the conversation revolved around how the hype has put them under rediculous pressure to live up to the hype. I hope it does.
