Years ago I was on a sheep farm where they had a few caged jackals. They distributed the hessian sacks that lined the cage around the farm and visiting jakkals kept well clear of the farm. something to do with the smell.

They had live traps scattered around the farm aswell. I found an Aardewolfe caught in a trap the one night. Never seen something so upset to be in a cage!!! We let it go as they only eat insects and small vermin.

We has some problems wif the jackals and bush pigs . we Put a pipe on the exhaust of our jeep and rev the engine and when the blerrie thing comes out from under we shoots the shit out of them , they eats our groente and the lammers these blerrie jakalse , I know how to shoot them from the trike but is very dangerous so is better to check them first and catch the males and kastreer them , then they kan only make a noise and chase all the other jakalse away - it works tru , Willempie

Dammit that sort of makes sense... castration but they still have to eat so do they then become vegetarians?
