If a FP is not activated, there is no SAR. ie if you never take off or you take off and don't talk to ATC the fp is not activated and will "fall" off the system after a couple hrs, no further action required....

I for eg have taken off FAVB on a FP and the repeater for 119.50 was down. I could also not raise 118.55, so no 1 to activate the FP with. Even though I had filed FP with SAR FAJS +1hr, the FP was never activated so could not cancel something not active?

Also remember if you talking to Info (north 127.40 or South 119.50) they close at 16:00 Z (6pm)... Around Harties 126.70 usually works even lower down if you need "help" or want to cancel SAR....

PS
If you running late (or early) you can delay or bring forward a FP that is already on the system far easier than filing a new one. ATC are usually most helpful.....

Apparently you need a jetting code if you want to fly within the 2 hours before a match. Would have been nice if someone told us before this operation shield stuff. I searched all paperwork, and couldn't find a trace of it. They didn't even warn us when applying for a FAC, when our application was based on flying during the 2 hours. It is not nice if you get the call from ATC stating that cape town dont allow you into the 50nm restricted area, and what is your alternative??  Must say that the Langebaan atc has been more than helpful in sorting the little problem.

Then my next problem: Why would they (fifa or world cup organizers) organize a simulation match on Monday 13h30?? No match during the world cup would be played at that time, so what can they learn from the exercise?? It is only upsetting the normal flying patterns of migratory trike flyers... ## ## ##
