Re: RAASA
When you have PPL all you do is the normal conversion - go to CAA and they will put it on your license. Nothing needed for you from Raasa side.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Re: RAASA
Hi Nico
Part 61 has written recently into the law that all Part 61 pilots can fly any aeroplane that is in the LSA category on their CAA licence. You will then not have to get a new licence for that aeroplane. You will have to do a normal familiarisation and differences check as per Part 61 to get the Bushbaby onto your licence. You can log hours done on an LSA on a one for one basis. You will only have to get a RAASA licence if you let your PPL lapse and you want to continue flying the Bushbaby.
Hope this helps
Regard
Rowena

Re: RAASA
Hi Nico.
As Rowena and Steve have already stated you can continue on your PPL, but if you come and get a NPL (LSA) we will give you a free RAASA cap with a pretty logo.
When you are at Rand Airport again come to the Aeroclub building and have a cup of coffee (FREE)
I would be interested to hear how you rate the Bushbaby after your adventures with the MAUL.
I have decided to go for the STOL King, and will have to finish my Tailwheel rating on something else as ZS-PIG is not very flyable anymore.

Re: RAASA
My PPL has lapsed and I now have a SPL till I do the Air law exams and the rest that is necessary to renew my PPL . Can I keep on flying my 3 axis M/L -Jora ,Tecnam , Jabiru, CT/SW etc on my PPL (now SPL ), or do I have to get a NPL for these 3axis planes I mentioned.

Re: RAASA
Yeay - been my chance to be a customer of RAASA today. Met by a bunch of friendly faces - quickly helped - no grumbling no nothing - what a difference from the mopey lot at CAA. In and out in no time at all - was almost asking if that was all?. Oh yes - one note - take CASH - their electronic card machines not in yet

Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Hello BadgerBadger wrote:I had my day with the RAASA girls last week and must say it was quite a pleasant experience. It is a bit further to drive to Rand since I reside on the northern side of the Juksky and I will gladly do it again for the friendly and personnal service they provide and they will throw in a RAASA ball cap when you do your renewal which is more than I ever got from CAA in all the years. Keep it up.![]()
I need to go too RAASA soon, are they situated and Rand Airport?
Office Hours?
Thanks

Re: RAASA
Rand Airport Hangar 4. Basically as you come in at the gate - about 80m on the left there is a peach coloured building - that be them. It's the aeroclub offices.
Sorry no idea of their office hours.

CAA no longer accepts the new flight medical certificate. this is now managed by RAASA.
