I'm glad you are hanging around Demon, the forum really needs you

Unfortunately there is a dark ominous cloud hanging over our wonderful hobby/sport and invariably negativity will drift into this forum.

Additionally the forum is the only platform to discuss and resolve these issues. It is going to be dark for a little longer but let's hang in there, push through it, give Lamercyfly all the support he needs and let's get this sport back to the exciting, thrilling, happy, positive sport it should be.

For the Capies, don't worry winter is coming, the wind will die down and the flying will be great.

I have decided to install a set of Checkers trolley wheels on the top of my wings so I can taxi a bit easier. 8)

WTF?

Just like Bad Nav, I have missed the hooha but wish to place on record that Demon's posts always get my attention. Unlike some (myself included) what he says is usually worth paying attention to.

Glad you're staying Demon!

Big D wrote:Demon - agreed. This forum is really great, and I too have made some great friends right here on Microlighters. .....
As D rightfully commented, I only started microlighting 20 months ago and this was the place where friends were made and I learnt from.

As Arnulf said, nothing wrong in deleting the cr@p that pops-up now and then

Thanks to Demon and Morph

I was similar to Demon

I have to agree with Demon, the forum is very useful as we all learn from each other. If it becomes a personal attack ground then its a waste of time. I also was going to withdraw.

BUT I realised that after a year and watched certain posts that were sending signals that chaps had problems with certain instruments and pieces of kit. Yes you can make a difference, and with the knowledge gained by the forum a chance exists that the problem can be fixed.

An example is our Vee rabbit antenna, the GPS 196/296 series of GPS interfered with all radios with absolutely no fix..well I developed that product as a a direct result of this forum and also our Oz cousins.

Now with 300 plus sold last year not a squeak about GPS interference and also its made the skys a safer place as you can transmit further/receive further.

We havent made money out of them though as we are still covering our tooling / development costs but its not our core business and has been a heap of fun doing it !!

So Demon the forum is 90% constructive and 10% trash well done mate.

Now I is werking on my English, s that i can pass the papers..

A forum has cycles and as ZULU above suggests you have to put in a noise filter to ignore the 'interference'.

As more people join, there will be more opinions and guaranteed there will be differences of opinion. Some participants forget to tackle the ball and they take on the player.

The acid test is the balance between the good and bad. If more good comes of a forum - it is working. Keep that in mind through the bad times, and also take comfort that as with any cycle, it will change.

I just want to add something to skybound comment. There was really just one week with bad comments coming from a handful of guys that to my knowledge, is not even MPL holders. This is really a case of know your limits. They don't know us, and they don't care. I am glad though that the microlighters handled themselves very well to that onslaught, and we stood together as a team.

A thought: "If something is never tested, how do we know how good it is??"

I enjoy this forum, and try my best to add something as well. I have learnt more from this forum than I would have done on my own.

Keep posting guys.
