Groete,
Rudi

Howdy Dish !

Yes, I am going to Rustenburg, depending on weather/work I might fly there Friday afternoon else early Saturday morning, leaving again Sunday morning.

Yes, we can dop/tjop and chat plenty ! So far the weather looks great.

I asked Henni on Saturday if he was going but he seemed a bit reluctant, he is going to miss out on a big jol and it is not that far from Rhino, between 80 and 96 miles depending on the route.

See you on the weekend :D

Rudix & Dish,

Thanx for the invite - I have a few excuses though:
1. Have to jump-start my aerie - hope to have this fixed soon
2. I do open air evangelism after hours - cannot afford a whole weekend right now.

Hope my excuses accepted. Looking forward to our next braai/beakfast & that one's on me!

Henni

Hi Henni & Dish,

Henni, no problem, those sound like pretty good excuses to me :D

See you the following weekend, or maybe Sunday, will fly back quite early.

Fly safe,
Rudi

It is a wonderful bit of history.

They first flew in around 1929, if you imagine a Tiger Moth without the bottom wing it is close. They are normally, but not always, powered by a converted car engine, the original flew with a model A Ford.

Here is a photo of one.

Image

Mine is powered by a 2l Ford Cosworth engine equipped with a reduction drive. It needs to be covered right now (after being stripped for a full inspection), should be finished before the end of the year.

Great fun if you are into some historic low and slow !

Regards,
Rudi
