How well could someone plan a trip to South america @ 18mph - headwinds, enough fuel? :?: Amazing stuff - they must have gr8 stories to tell.

My one buddies grandfather drove from Cape to Cairo, twice over 60 years ago with a bus! Not some fancy suspension either - got stuck MANY times, now he's old, a bit senile and delerius but mention the bush or offroad and he will tell you the story with excited eyes. What can we tell our grandchildren?

Do you think we, us modern folk, are just to risk averse?
it is highly recommended to have a 4x4 with all the latest gizmos, offroad trailer, backup vehicles, etc etc, and before you set off, make sure you attended an "Offroad driving course" and insured your rig in case that something happend.

Marketing, bru, through fear. Woooooooooohhhhhh

My heroes are the bikers who were plodding through Africa and around the world on dirt tracks in the 1930s. Read the book One Man Caravan by Ed Fulton, who rode round the world in the '30s on a completely unsuitable bike, into places were full-on wars were raging, with nothing but a bit of courage and a little handgun for protection.

Ja, we've become scared. And if your government says you mustn't/can't do it, then you get even more scared.

Hi Folk.

Just a short note to set the record straight with record to Bennie's opening post with regard to 'can you make money with a microlight'.

It is incorrect to say that you are allowed to 'share costs' in South Africa.
Your passenger may in no way contribute to the cost of running your microlight.

It is something that I want to start pushing for in the near future. It is done in the U.K.

Sorry to be a 'kill-joy'. Just wanted to set the record straight before rumours start flying like pigs in July and stories of Bullsh*t beating Sharks etc.,

Later,
