back to the story

Clive jumped on his moped and raced as fast as he could away from the field. He was both embarrassed for peeing on Uncle Bob's seat but more so wanted to get home and to bed. The sooner tomorrow comes the better.

Now Clive lived in a humble little shack, with his parents and sister. His father used to be in the airforce during the war and the house was filled with flying memorabilia he had brought back from the campaigns in North Africa. Clive loved to sit in the lounge just staring at them and letting his mind drift to the days of conquest. His favorite item was the Spitfire Pilot's leather cap which he would wear whenever...............

With the Spitfire Pilot's leather cap in his hands, Clive was hoping that Uncle Bob haven’t noticed his pants and surely hope that the seat will be dry in the morning, unaware of Bob’s efforts to get ZS-FOK’s authority to fly from CAA in time. It’s been some time now that Sipho, his Swazi friend promised to organize as he got the right contacts. Sipho’s cousin Sitnetso (which means “very black” in Zwasi) Baboona was appointed second in charge of cleaning at CAA earlier this year. Sitnetso is 16 years of age and however she never attend any school, its one of her big dreams to be the CEO of CAA one day at least before she retires in 1995.

Bob just know it’s going to be a late night. He still got plenty to do; he cannot disappoint this boy. Not now, not on his birthday. He could kick himself for firing Captain Dingbat the mechanic. He caught him red-handed sniffing avgas from the fuel tank a week ago, and he is quite sure it was him who also painted GE over the ZS in black to read now GE-FOK instead of ZS-FOK.

Captain Dingbat says" No problem".

Turning on the PA Sytem, selecting her favourate song, she grabs a mop, shuffles to the now vacant hangar and as captured on TV;

'Aint no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough', demonstrates the simple accomplishment of any establishment to reduce dept is to just sell all the aeries.

In a humble little shack, filled with flying memorabilia brought back by Brigadier Clive Plastickbucket senior from the campaigns in North Africa, not far from the famous Strawberry flight school near Magallies, Clive junior is getting dressed for this occasion.

A very tired Bob is dipping the last peppermint flavoured Romany cream into his now ice cold tea while anxiously wiping the sweat from his forehead with a light blue and burgandy coloured paisley handkerchief.

“Shit what is Sipho taking so long now”. He murmured to himself.

Back at the CAA office Captain Dingbat can still not believe what he is observing.
“ My donner Sitnetso, what have you been smoking, Iv’e told you to leave that green stuff from Shipo”
"What do you mean by: “What you waaaaaaant?”
“This whole thing was your idea?”

"Eish Captain Dingeling you better go now, Sipho is on his way here to fetcha da athoraty to flai. He must not see us together, me da woman of da carreer and i dont wanna be without da job like you."
"Go now!"

Ready? Clive shows a big thumbs up.

"Foxtrot oscar kilo, taking off zero six lefthand out, heading towards Donkiedroldam" says Clive very confident to himself in the mirror, as he had heard so many times on the radio in the hanger. Another thumbs up and he smiles to himself. A quick breakfast and he's ready to go.

Clive rushes over the neighbour's electric fence and hijacks the sleeping drunk's DSTV channel through the window with a universal remote he left under the windowsill.

He tunes to the weather channel and looks at the satellite image... Knowing that the weatherman is as trustworthy as far as you can throw him he decides to get on the moped and mosy on down to the "office"

Clive turns into the airfield and sees that....
