I don't know if it is just me but....... A 747 does not appeal to me at all. I have no interest in seeing one in a museum. It's not like a tiger moth, or a Spitfire, or a Shackleton, or a Lancaster etc etc. Give me propellers, that lovely drone of those Rolls Royce Merlin engines over a boring Boeing 747 any day.

When I was a kid I built plastic aircraft models. The ones that stayed in the box were all the commercial jets. The only exception was the Concorde, which I have flown in by the way 8) . Not bragging or anything mind you

Agreed Morph, but it awesome to see it land on a runway that is barely big enough to hold U/C. It was awesome to see the lsat one arrive. More for the shee size and precision (sp?) flying required to get it down. Remeber that once committed to land they can't go around as runway is too short or so i am told....

Ahhh, what a beauty it was. 2 x practice approaches, and then the landing.

Got pics, however too daft to post them   . That what the "finger trouble" post is all about   . I know there is a "how to do it" in the forum, but am at the moment too busy to check it out. In the mean time I e-mailed the pics to Morph. Unicorn made a nice video of the landing.

Regards,
Arnulf

Here is just the landing part in small downloadable format (4mb)

Wind was 360/8 which gives them a 3kt x-wind. You can see lots of rudder stomping on touchdown Awesome landing though!!!

Did any of you experience radio static just outside the airfield?
Had terrible static both in and out just on the outskirts of the airfield could not hear ATC at all untill we were on downwind??
