They just replied to my email. Unlike previous ADIZ implementations, they will NOT allow non transponder equipped aircraft...

Ok guys, I have just made enquiries on MISASA's behalf with both ATNS as well as SAAF Authorisation Centre....so here are the facts:

1: These Notam's ARE in force as they are written.
2: Before any flight takes place you must submit a flight plan (ATNS) and contact SAAF with the same details on the flight plan for your Authorisation number (which they will give you only if your plan is approved!)
3: NO aircraft will be given clearance WITHOUT A TRANSPONDER. (Trikes and most NTCA's are stuffed I'm afraid...)
4: Any flight that takes place without the Auth No during the time that this Notam is in place for...is an ILEGAL flight! FACT!

Yes there were flights and training taking place this morning!!!....were they legal? NO..not acc to the SAAF or ATNS....so I do hope for your sake no one noticed you...

Those are the facts my friends.... you're the pilot...do what you want but don't call me for sympathy if you get caught!

You have been warned... ^

Tumbles... my response to his input(s) would be most uncomplimentary!

Anyway... Tedderfield 2014 is a GO in all aspects unless some other iconic head of state decides to depart in that period!
