RAASA issuing 'ILLEGAL' Licenses!

Highlight the problem to us and we'll take it up with RAASA. We have an excellent working relationship with them and issues can and will be resolved as best possible.

When pilots start cheating on their paperwork like extending dates or whatever, the next step is to start cheating on their pre-flights and flying. It won't be long before something bad happens. The core of being a pilot is being honest and truthfull, otherwise you will make a big mistake and might not survive it.

Gadget, precisely what point are you trying to make?

I was asking for crucial paperwork (in this case RAASA issued licenses) to be issued without any errors. In my case the license had pages printed without the valid pilots license printed on the bottom of the page.

I then went on to suggested that failure to get the basics right when issuing pilots licenses may open the door to abuse.

So, I would be interested if you could enlarge on your remark and to explain what you mean.

I am not referring to the mistake made by RAASA on the printing of the license. I am referring to the part where this could be abused by pilots. I have heard of cases where pilots have falsified documents in the past and this is where the danger lies. When a pilot starts lying to others he will eventually start lying to himself and that could be their end. My statement does not point to someone specific but to the overall danger and that we have to hold ourselves to a higher rule due to the dangers involved in our sport. I believe RAASA and all the other aviation associations have come a long way in the last couple of years to advance our flight safety and make it more difficult for this to happen but we as pilots have to act honourable.

So my statement is made to let us think about the responsibility we are saddled with to do things right. Sorry I should have been a bit more clear. Kudos to you for noticing this mistake. I quickly checked mine to make sure it is correct.

Hi Gadget-Man! I agree 100%. As they say, there are no 'levels of honesty'! As pilots we need to be completely above board in ALL our dealings. Thanks for clarifying!
