Yes Bundy, these work for me all the time, not ideal especially when they get wet in the morning due to the morning dew on the grass. So I will try the bag idea but will have to use Woolworths bags to keep the image up (Checkers, Pic'n pay Spar... not)
I wear them primarily because they have a decent rubber heel on them & don't slip off the pegs. They are also soft soled so I can feel the pedals. Also our runway is coverd in cow poo

so something with treads on is going to get walked through the house when I get home & that will annoy softness and my animals.
One of the trikes I fly has a fairing so that keeps out some of the cold.
I can feel the cold on my feet, I can even feel the cold coming through the shoelace eyelets.
I've looked all over for something waterproof, light with a heel and with a high ankle but havent seen anything suitable yet.
I feel the cold more on my chin, (Radio comms becomes interesting) despite a visor and neck warmer. I took a beanie and opened the stitches at the top, that gave me a warmer that cannot go through the prop and I can pull it up over my chin. It just gets full of slobber around the gob.
Small prices to pay for our hobby. Good luck with the rebuild.
