John, it would be my understanding that, if one has a school with instructors, the school would have been notified, as well as each of the instructors at the school. Leading Edge Flight School for example have 2 instructors. It therefore stands that 3 mails should have been sent to them.
There is no doubt that between RAASA, CAA , Aeroclub and our collective members, there exists a huge communication gap. The currently available information appears to be very old, with no updates evident. We, as the sections within the Aeroclub will have to assist them in addressing this. As you well know, MISASA send out magazines to all members. We often have people asking where their magazines are and why they never get one. The same issue. Contact details MUST be updated. While it is the members’ responsability to keep their details current, we would be deficient if we did not find a way to assist with this problem. So, everyone that reads this, (whether MISASA, EAA, or any other discipline), please ensure your info is up to date. We too will try to assist.

I agree Donald and have indicated that we must primarily get the schools info up to date first before embarking on the instructors list. It would be pointless of apportioning the blame to any specific party as that would not resolve the issue at hand. This is not public domain data and urge that schools that are registered for Part 62 operations to PM or e-mail me the following information and then take it from there:

ICAO
Town
Airfield
School name
ATO No.
PART61 Yes/No
PART62 Yes/No
Region/Province
Owner
WEBSITE
Primary
Email
Tel No
Fax No
SCOPE OF TRAINING (eg. WCM, CCM, LSA, GYRO etc)

Hello Sir John....

Me thinks your ramblings are amusing:)

About updating records, suggest you scratch around at CAA. You ain't gonna have much luck expecting 'the field' to supply you this stuff. Just too much effort lad. And many of us don't use this forum anymore......

About this instructor get together, I'll be there when it comes to KZN.....

So long..

Hey uncle D... I have had excellent co-operation thus far I must say. So expect a call from me sometime to get your details - and if you don't give, I'll moer you and then pour copious amounts of fermented beverage with exceedingly high alcohol content down your gullet! Waking up with and incredible headache (**) (it does happen you know and have experienced it first hand If I need to remind you sir...) you will be totally submissive and extremely co-operative (^^)

Only trying to make a difference in a process I have high hopes for! vhpy

Hi John, please conform that you have received my email address - sent a couple of days ago. Not sure why RAASA do not have my details, they have not changed since I got my licence some 8 years ago, and secondly, I had some email correspondence with them in December re the renewal of my instructor's rating.

I am busy drafting a full feedback for the seminar for those that weren't there. As soon as I am finished it will be available on the MISASA website. Will let you have the link once published on the web
