My lisensie is legal, ek is legal, medical fit, aerie geservice, alles reg.
Hy is intelligent hy sal verstaan..

My understanding is;

You may take anyone for a flip. You are not allowed to recieve compensation unless you are an instructor giving an 'introductory flight, or your ATF allows for an NTCA to be used as a 'commercial business and you have the required CAA authority.

The passenger should be made aware that the NTCA, or other aerrie, could have an accident and that they are taking part knowing of the consequences.

You may have an indemnity form signed which states that they are taking part knowing that they will not hold the pilot liable of any mishap and accept any consquences at their own risk and for their own account.

The problem with a fatality is that the indemnity does not indemnify the pilot against any claim that the pilot's benificiaries, or the pilot's insurance company might have against claiming for any loss. Should you be found negligant then the indemnity form means nothing.

You probably have the Misasa liability insurance which I think covers against damage to other aerries, property e.t.c. I doubt if it will help against a claim from a passenger.

You probably have private public liability insurance. This covers you against your dog killing your neighbour, you burn down your neighbour's house whilst braaing e.t.c.

I don't know if this cover will come into effect if a pax sues you for medical/ loss of earnings e.t.c. should you be found negligant by the court which caused the accident.

To me the best way is, do the flight, land safely then accept the gratitude is booze, juice or even leg-over when there's no chance of complications. vhpy

I woulnt fly any pax without an indemnity .
Its probably not worth the paper it written on  but , but............. were all buddies when all is well .. (^^) .. But beware when you have an oopsie and your pax doesnt have medical , and maybe your licence / ATF is not in speck and or some accident inspector finds something not so lekker , then the dog phoos on the leash (**) , ja K$%# and betaal is the wet van Transvaal . ## ## ## ..
Check the law ## , make sure your MISASA fees as well as Aeroclub fees are in place ## , they could help in case of a lawsuit , ## but is it worth the risk puff .

Hi Alex,

The examples quoted in this thread revolve around the community - churches, tennis clubs, etc.

If I had to sponsor the tennis club flips through a school, I would have to pay over R 4000.00.

My absorbed costs for these flips - 15l of mogas and a bag of charcoal.
