Porra it sounds like a nice trip.I once did a round trip ,Wonderboom,Carolina,Barberton-Piramid,Palaborwa,Tzaneen,Pietersburg,Pogietersrus Wonderboom what a nice erea to fly !!!.That was after flying from Jeffreysbsy ,Kimberly Rhino and then Wonderboom. I can tell you that although there is safety in numbers ,there is nothing that beats the feeling of achievement when you do a well planned trip like that solo !I say go for it ! Just watch your weather, try not to fly later than 10 in the mornings ,rarther take 2 days as the lowveld gets blerrie hot ----turbulence!!!--- and plan your flight and fly your plan !I am following your trip on Easyplan, can you give me the co-ords for the strip at the game farm you are landing at please.

vhpy Hey Splinter, checked out your suggestion on easyplan. Estimated 6hrs and 20 min flying time. Sounds great!! ##
Middelburg, Sabie, Hazyview, Pilgrims Rest, Blyde Canyon, Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa.
Now all we need is to speak to the weather Gods and hope they are good to us (^^) (-)

Good flying down there. This was just a quick suggestion, maybe just check the vertical navigation, great alt difference between Sabie, Hazyview and back to Blyde. Dont need to go there if you think its gonna be a problem with a heavy loaded 503 but I assure you the scenery is GREAT and so is the Hazyview breakfast!

vhpy vhpy Sorry gents , I will also want to take part in this outing..so count me in.. (^^)
Last year during August Mervin from Microland organized a similar trip and about 7 trikes went from Microland to Hazyview. One of the 7 was a lady pilot in a 502 from Microland..(Forgotten her name ) ## Myself flew from Marble Hall via Lydenburg over the escarpment to hazyview where I joined up with them.
From the Numbi Hotel we went on Daily excursions to some of the places mentioned above...
It was the most fantastic experience I have had for a very long time..
The outing was organized during August because it is the safest time of the year to fly over those mountains..
We flew all along the border of the Kruger Park and spotted plenty game..We also flew along the Escarpment and had the oportunity to enjoy plenty of Gods-window like scenary...FANTASTIC..
Make sure about the weather the Mountains are very intimmidating. vhpy
