Klipriver Airfield ?!

Hi Guys
Had not been past Klipriver for a few years , took a drive on Saturday ... eeeiiiyyyshh
I found a piece of savanna(tall veld instead of runways) with some sad looking hangers in the middle ?
I purchased my errie there 5 years ago .... it was a nice airfield except for the very rough 02/20 runway.

We are still acive there, myself and Alan Piltz flew on Saturday Afternoon.

Really looked like the airfield is in trouble ... needing help.
I went there to see if the long runway had improved .... I'm looking at options to locate my errie closer to home.
Is there still an active club ? Anybody I can talk to regarding options ?

Hi DAK,

I have been at Klipriver since Jan 1998.
I really love the place, gives me the ability to get out of city life.
I stay in Midrand, and its only 62km to drive there for absolute peace and quite, and get away from all my stress.

Please contact Alan Pepper on 0832504385, with regards to hangarage available and very very reasonable fees.

Alan has arranged for tractor to cut the grass, but the tractor broke. How ever, it should be fixed, and grass to be cut this week.

We are planning to upgrade the situation to something new, with maintained runways, nice clubhouse, fly aways, braais like in the old days .

We will keep you all posted .

I flew over thee early in December. It was a Satrday morning, and the place was dead.
It would be great if the field was revived.
Does the porra still fly from there?
