Greetings South African People of the Sky,

Havn't said much on the Forum lately I know, have had a few issues but more about that on a topic yet to come. Yeah Yeah I know. Will try to behave myself, but it is so difficult with my warped sense of humour.

Right then. Let us be serious. I was going to keep out of this topic for a reason that most of you are aware of. I let my emotions get the better of me and end up saying what I think rather to bluntly for some. This usually results in loads of funny pictures with hackles rising. Well ek is jammer. But when I get passionate about a subject, I will say what I think and what I feel. It is just the way I am and I am passionate about South Africa.

First saw South Africa in 2004 and wanted to stay. Now it is 2008 and after eleven months we are nearly there. Many items that softness and I made part of our home have now gone. Passed onto others in car boot sales. When asked "Where are you going"? we say "South Africa" and they say "You are so lucky". Nobody and I mean nobody has said "What about the crime, the murders, the muggings, the car jacking etc etc"? and do you know why? Because it is no frigging different here. that's why. Discipline and law is collapsing in my country your country and other counties and the only way you will be free of the lawless is to find somewhere to live where there are no people. There is another option however. Accept society, any society wherever you are, as lawless and then do everything you can to make it unsavory for the lawbreakers. If that means a .38 through the body, then so be it. They wont be back will they????

South Africa has the same problems that the whole frigging world has. The decent folks just have to stand their ground, fight back and do whatever it takes to live a decent life. Good whites bad whites. Good blacks bad blacks. Colour has nothing to do with crime or criminals. Show a white mans heart and a black mans heart together on a table and I defy you to tell the difference. Finally.

I have seen 61 summers. I am financially safe in my country. After 65 summers I will have two pensions. No mortgage and a fairly easy life. Why would I give that up to live in South Africa? First reason is Family. Second reason is for softness and I to LIVE the years we have left together and SA is the country to do it in. Whatever the problems you face South Africa has a great future, all you need to do is make it so.

Uncle, where do you live now?

BTW, crimestats in SA seems to get overrated by the press and the people will post the statistics of other countries and you will see that you are right about crime in other countries! And nothing can beat a Braai with a nice sunset in SA and a good glass of merlot.

Stay safe

Gee Spud,

I can't see one comment that will raise the hackles of anyone on here. Well done.

Looking forward to sharing a braai and a few golden throat ticklers with you and your softness.

Cheers,

Dankie for the comment JetRanger. Dankie all. Much better than ## ## ## -xX -xX s068 s062 s065 s067 s071

Have we sold our house??? There are two answers that you can get from every question. The real one and the one that sounds right. We very rarely get the real one. Its human nature to lie. I always seem to get the one that sounds right and then it's my fault when I lose the plot and try to strangle the liar. Hope to be on the plane beginning of the second week in November. Will be doing a follow on to 'Coming to Africa' before then when softness and I are sure.

If what we do goes wrong there is no going back so when you see a white man under a shade cloth selling sun glasses, be so kind as to stop and buy one get one free. That is the left one first then the right heheheheheeh vhpy

I agree, we need to have a session round the camp fire with Oom Aartappel when he arrives. I feel a fly away weekend may be in order.....

Now only if I can bum a seat......
