Hello people,
I`m new here and cant stop reading through this site.
My name is Andre and I reside in Centurion(GP). I`m a wanna build my own airplane nut. I decided that a blik aerie looks like somethin I`ll be able to manage, scratch that is, and ordered a set of plans for a zodiac 601xl.
Now that the paperwork is here and after I spoke to a few people it looks like I`m not gonna be able to get 6061 t6.
Zenair even specifies Avex rivets and then only certain batches out of the UK, can this be possible?
Some people say you can get locally produced 6061 but it doesnt`t have the pedigree and paperwork that the imported alli has, Also where does one source it locally if available....help pleeease!!

Speak to our building fundi on microlighters - the one and only BOET - always great to talk to the man down under @ Loeriesfontein!

Hi cap232
Welcome to one of the most addictive sites to the internet!
Have a look at the texhnical posts as well. See the Carl Babst Raven/ Zodiac 601 posts as well as those on VW engines. Why dont you contact Carl Babst as he sells from parts (kit) to completed aircraft. Most people buy the kits from him at whatever stage they want and do the rest. I'm sure he can even supply just the flat aircraft grade aluminium.
Best wishes
Andre
