Becareful man!! If nasa sees this, they might just sue you for stealing their patent!!  vhpy vhpy

Looks great. We were joking the other day that we should have a competition on who can make the funkiest helmet he has to fly with. Like those who look like alexander the greats war helmet etc.

I am driving a BMW bike with a Baehr intercomm, execelent...

They also manufacture Acoustic Helmets complete with speakers and microphone, built in clear and dark visor

I want to make up a cable with the correct plugs and borrow one of these helmets to try in my Gyro. Will report when done.

See http://www.baehr.net/Hauptframeset.htm for the helmet and contact the local agent at http://www.baehr.co.za.

I have yet to part with my goggles. I cannot feel the wind in my face and my head is so huge that the visor does not really fit. The bib worked for a 45 minute flight, was really awesome but then the 2 outer "bolts" of the visor came loose - the visor started flapping around and I was in desperate need of a spot to put down.

Admittedly, I have a buzzcom XXXL helmet and a visor and bib from Zulu.

My problem (not gloating) is 20/20 vision and the visor gets scratched EASILY. I prefer a R60 pair of moto-X gogs and the wind in my face. I do not fly on instruments, have an EGT and temp gauge that I keep in eye but the rest is just feel.

Da, Comrate Yurrie Gugarin, Cool helmet!. Make you look like Russian Cosmonaut. Is it a permanent full face or can it flip up out of the way as well?

Guys tend to think "avaition" lets add on 300%. I spoke to the manufacturer and he is not flexible on price so I dont that he will sell many. They look great though.

Yes exactly. Someone made the comment on a $2 helmet for a $2 head.

If the manufacturer can prove to me that he has done all of the safety testing that goes into a R1999 Shark motorcycle helmet, then I'll be happy to pay R1999.

I think the fact that is is made of Kevlar and Carbon fibre means squat. Personally I do not believe that the risk of head trauma is as high on a trike as it is on a bike.

The guy really has to come to the party and tell us what makes the helmet special, backed up by international and SABS testing reports etc.

No one should buy a helmet unless they have checked out Zulu's. Top tinted visor, lightest on the market so no more moans from the pax and ......tried and tested. :?

I just had to post this...Its not the lightest but it will stop a mean explosion, visor is 25mm thick and its composite materials allow it to weigh in at 7,9kgs. After a days testing the comms its "back breaking". It features ambient microphones, wired interface, cellphone jammer and the new version we are building a video link up with DVR. NO radios allowed. The technology is opposite to Aviation. Oh and they are water cooled with a fan blower assembly over the inside of the visor.

I suppose that is important if you went into orbit with your trike, and now have to re-enter the atmosphere

Agent,

nobody takes a R4500 helmet seriously.

It's like trying to flog a porche keyring for a grand. not going to happen
