***The Correct Part 24 found***

Postby skybound® » Tue Apr 01, 2008 8:23 am

As with the recently discovered bloops by CAA, with the incorrect Part 61 being promulgated, the CAA have now found the correct Part 24 and the working papers with all comments form the AeCSA making the changes to allow owner maintenance in addition to deleting the text forcing the ludicrous mandatory following of maintenance schedules.

The new part has been published on the CAA web site and will according to CAA sources be promulgated along with the correct Part 61.

In particular I really like 24.03.1
24.03.1
(1) Any non-type certificated aircraft, shall be maintained by or on behalf of its owner in such a manner that it is airworthy at the commencement of any flight. Where the aircraft manufacturer or any approved organisation has issued maintenance instructions they shall be adhered to. Guidelines, recommendations and other service bulletins will be carried out at the discretion of the owner.
(2) The Approved Maintenance Schedule, referred to in sub-regulation (1), shall- (a) prescribe who may carry out maintenance on the aircraft; (b) specify the conditions under which maintenance shall be carried out, including environmental conditions and equipment and tools to be used; and (c) be in the format as prescribed in Document SA-CATS-NTCA.
All our troubles are gone!

Sometimes to break the tension you need to fall back to humour.
