Fugawi

Postby Badger » Tue Feb 19, 2008 9:44 pm

Gents
Do any one know where I can get hold of the latest aeronautical maps in digital format (giff format) or where (In Pretoria/ JHB) I can get maps scanned to be imported for use in Fugawi. My scanned ones are a bit old and I would like to update them.

Badger - check to see if there is an updated paper map to your digital ones first.

If there is you can contact Land Surveying & Mapping - we have obtained digital copies from them in the past. Can contact them on Tel: (021) 6584300.

Contact dept of land surveying in CT. They will drop all on CD for you. You will have to calibrate the 1:1000K, 1:500K and the 1:250k yourself. if you get the 1:250K topographical they are already calibrated. Available online. Takes less than 5 mins once you understand how to order the maps.

Cheap. if you take your own CD to CT it used to be free. i got !:1000K, 1:500K, 1:250K aeronautical as well as whole country on 1:250K topo for R200 including post and package. They charge per CD and 1:250K's take plenty CD's.

Well worth it, but if gonna use with Fugawi and load more than 1 map at a time, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MOERSE KLOMP RAM.
