Get a decent constitution (they vary) ...

A passionate committee ... (Chairman, Treasurer/Secretary, Safety Officer)

A passionate group of aviators ...

+- R 1200 per annum & depends how it is spent...

We would like a decent fee say R600p/a and get things going.
At R60 and 30 members you are not going to get things of the ground in a hurry. Different if you already have things set up and a lot of freebies on the offer.
Airfield maintenance is becoming a problem as Town councils are disowning the responsibilities.

Ask me, I know....

We tried to get Postmasburg Aero Club off the ground. In the end, R 30000 later coming only from 3 of us - the town council was too concerned sorting out sh^&%^& houses and trying to rid the town of the bucket system and buying the Mayoress a fancy car and... the list is endless. We ended up footing the bill.

If you are going to organise fly-in's to generate income then by all means. Clubs are supposed to be for charity and not for your own gain!

We will organise all the activities but need capital to build up and maintain. Nobody is in it for personal financial gain. Flying and social is the aim of the game!

I have a pro forma constitution for you. Will possibly have an updated version with a few more technical clauses added a little later. Do you have a useable airfield... Do you have a clubhouse... what facilities are available... etc.

Airfield

Avgas, pm me your e-mail address and will forward it to you. We also put up fencing around our hangars - no help from local authorities. They graded the runways once!!! We built a roller to compact the runways. Then the townfolk's kids found 06/24 and 01/29 to be an awesome quad and dronkgat dicing spot!

Also had the locals teaching their crowd to drive on the runways. Buzzed them up a few times. Still have my hangar there but have moved to Kimberley now and will add my assistance to the club at John Weston!

Get an agreement or 99 year lease on paper from local authority. Prevent it from becoming informal settlement!!
