Adopt a PPL pilot

Postby lamercyfly » Thu Feb 14, 2008 9:00 am

Hi guys.

I think the time is right.

Make 2008 your 'Adopt-a-Pilot' year. sometime, this year, make it your personal MPL goal to go find a PPL -fixed or rotary wing-, and take them for an enjoyable flight in your microlight..........

I am going to make a point of doing it, and doing it soon.

I will post a photo on this topic of my happy PPL (I'll try to make it Airlaw  ), and look forward to seeing photo's of your happy PPL, with his comments (good or bad - let's have all the comments, so that we can begin dispersing the myth that triking is dangerous!)

2008 is my year to start turning triking around, back into the booming sport is was a couple of years ago. Hang on to your trikes guys, used prices are going to improve, and you are going to want to start taking to the skies again.........

I have a couple of plans, and will post another thread with regard to what I am about to start.

Cheers.

Excellent Dave, good to see that you are still so positive and keeping true to your word concerning the microlight industry.

yep, had a few already, here seen with a softness (cpl and PIC of a King Air B200 - charter flights from Kuruman To Lanseria Daily) Pic was taken after they landed back in Kuruman, Little did she know it was not her last flight for the day - well maybe as PIC. She enjoyed it and I changed her idea of microlighting - or lets say I hope I did

I took a PPl up in November. He had a blast... Even gave him the reigns for a short while and he was amazed at how "difficult" it was! He started with a medium turn and could not correct, with everything being opposite! But he loved the experience.

Took another PPL mate up in J-Bay in December and his words were: "Every hangar should have one of these!"

Great idea Dave!

I have a PPL and have just puchased a gyro .I went solo today and words cannot describe how lekker it was. I assure you that as soon as I have comlpeted my gyro licence I will be taking my PPL buddies for a flip . It vhpy may cause a couple of devorces and stretch the finances but when these guys see how much fun it is I doubt they will want to fly the tradional blik aeries again.

I have also decided to renew my MPL licence. It has been awhile since I have flown a trike .Watching the trike boys at Springs this morning brought back great memories of trike flying.

Excellent idea. I have done this twice, the one, Anthony said afterwards he will never snigger at MPLs again, and the other (an American CPL), uhm (and I am not too proud of this), I tried to impress with the gliding properties and could not restart. He was duly impressed with the ease of landing in a cornfield (and taking off).

After I completed my instructors in november, I took up my PPL instructor for a intro flight, guess what :!: , he signed up for a conversion  And he was seriously trashing trikes before that :!:
