Advice on Health Matters

To all my fellow flyers

Please, please, please guys! If you are over 40 go have a blood test done to check your PSA levels. I have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer and I would like to appeal to all of you to take care so that you don't have to go through all the shit that I am about to go through. Anyway, I am determined to beat this f*#@*$g thing because I intend flying until I am 90 vhpy

Salem - I am so sorry to hear of your misfortune :cry:

But, your attitude is right and attitude is everything.

I very dear family friend of ours recently also battled prostrate cancer which he has now beaten - He obviously took medication but insists that the biggest factor in him beating this thing was Apricot pips - No joke, please read about it on internet. Does not taste great but apparantly it really is something remarkable when it comes to fighting cancer.

Sorry to hear that Salem,

My aviation doc includes this test in every flight medical over 40. Simple blood test now, no longer the finger :shock:

It can be beaten

Salem, sorry to hear of your diagnosis.

Ask your oncologist about brachytherapy - the latest treatment in the fight against prostate cancer. One of my best mates is probably the leading radiation oncologist that specialises in this treatment and the results are really good.

Both my aviation doc and urologist recommend both, PSA and dipstick. Not necessarily at same time, but alternating. PSA test is only an indicator. There are cases where PSA was fine, but dipstick revealed a different story. For the dipstick I go to a urologist. He then does an ATF on the complete plumbing system.

I go for a scope every 6 months. Top and bottom pollops were found and now i need to keep checking. Really not a nice day at the clinick. Nuts and herbs do work.
