Brackets for Vee rabbits

Postby ZULU1 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 6:20 am

Gt 450 club

Big G has always "nagged me" about the agricultural bracket for the Vee Rabbit" . I designed it for the Airborne and Aquilla, no problem.

The King post on the GT450 is a serious designer piece of kit, hence Big Gs whinge. I do admit the bracket does look rather industrial...on such a fine extrusion.

Anyway he imported a section of the tube for me and we have had a very nice pattern made for the "back bracket" thus eliminating the long bolts required. I will send a quantity of the new back brackets to allow the existing owners to retro fit at no charge to Big G in the next two weeks.

Now I suppose he will call it a yacht fitting...The new Vee rabbits will be powder coated white (with white whips) for the Gt 450 and have nice stainless button head screws instead of Big Gs quote "fence bolts" (they are stainless!)

Cant please all the people all the time..

Considering A GT450 !!

Postby Chaz » Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:29 am

As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, i am considering a GT450 as well. Seems like one does have a colour choice and a Black and Yellow is what i would like.

Erm i will take Number 14 once 13 has been ordered. No not superstitious either :D

Vee Rabbits..

Postby ZULU1 » Sat Oct 20, 2007 6:01 pm

The antenna is so designed to work almost anyway up and with experience I have found that they also work horizontally. The only comment I must make is that they do not perform well with high power inputs, I would say the maximum should be about three watts. For example I have used one with a ICA 200 and it goes "spurious" and wipes out neighbouring frequencies !! I have sold them to users on other frequencies and they have also had good results.

Brackets will be sent next week.

I have to agree with you superstition is not to be taken lightly.
My other dilemma I compulsively like to help people so I am offering my services. For the good of the brand and to continue sales give no 13 to me and I will on behalf of Microlighters around the country take the risks on my shoulders. I will not even argue colour, consider it my debt to the microlighting world.

ZULU1 popped in to drop off 3 power supplies for the guys in the Cato area.

Saw the GT450 bracket err … “Yacht Fitting”  – actually very nice and very nicely machined. Bracket was being sent for powder coating.

Hiya Mj

I have posted the sample to Big G for approval, we can make next week, I have ordered RG58 cable in white, white cable ties (not clear), white rods (we buy them in) and no reason why we cant send next week. I await the Big G approvals first as he is going to mount on his plane this weekend. Also I wish to finalise the correct cable lengths with him.

It may just get branded the Rabbit 450...
