From the AWSA Newsflash 8 Oct 2007 - GHIA
AWSA NEWSFLASH - 8 OCTOBER 2007.

GOOD HOPE INT AIRPORT LTD APPLIES FOR LICENSE OF INTENT.

It has been reported to the monitors of AWSA that GOOD HOPE
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PTY LTD has applied to the SACAA for a license
of intent for the proposed new airport at Kalbaskraal near
Malmesbury. According to Government Gazette 30317, dated 28 September
2007, comments should be forwarded to the CAA at

The venture, launched by SKY Port Corporation LTD, was widely
reported on in the press earlier this year. The CEO of SKY Port, Mr
Owen Wienand, comes from a background of "being a respected and
successful entrepreneur of start-up business developments such as
housing estates, aviation, private hospitals" according to their
website. It further states, "His most recent and very successful
project, SUNAIR, is a high-performance role model aviation service
provider in Southern Africa, based in Cape Town."

The project will provide much-needed relief to the present congestion at CTIA without complicating passenger connectivity
I wonder which Cape Town International Airport they are talking about??

Written representations against or in favour of the said application should
reach the Acting Commissioner for Civil Aviation, the South African Civil Aviation
Authority, Private Bag X73, Halfway House, 1685 (fax number(011- 545- 1203)
and e-mail address mail@caa.co.za) not later than 1 9 October 2007.

Point 1. This will take away most of the flying area of microlights.

Point 2. I dont want commercial aircraft flying over my house in Philadelphia. They can make use of Ysterplaat where there is less fog.

Point 3. People are not going to travel nearly 45km because its busy at CTIA. They will still go to CTIA.

Point 4. This is farmland area and must be used as zoned.

I'm not yet a pilot, but i think the guys at Morningstar and Wintervogel must set up something to stop this. I just love to see you guys up in the air early mornings and i dont want this to change.

There is a few farmers i know of that want to sell there farms because of planned development on the West Coast. These farmers will look at any type of development as long as they score big time out of the deal.

Agent, what is happening with your aviation estate near Malmesbury, because if this airport goes through, then your estate is out the backdoor?

We are doing an alternative 7 km outside Malmesbury and it's an aviation estate with plenty hangers clubhouse and residential estate.

The full will be revealed when we are ready, not to make fools of ourselves.
