Flying opportunity in Tanzania

Postby RudiErasmus » Tue Jun 26, 2007 12:39 pm

I am posting this on behalf of someone else.

My nanme is Deon kruger, I am the chief pilot od Northern Air Tanzania and Friedkin Conservation Fund Tanzania. We operate 2 (503 & 912)microlights for the express purpose of aerial surveys, anti-poaching, game counts etc in the North west of Tanzania. The areas include the Serengeti. We are desperately looking for a competant pilot to take up a fulltime pilot position with us and to work closley with the FCF and our current pilot Paul Ferguson. The candidate needs to have 250+ hours be able to work on the aircraft, engine unsurpervised, be single and love the real bush (not Game Lodge) as that is where they will be based for 90% of the duties. The pilot will be required to fly 3hours a day on average for 20 days of the month. The contract will be for a minimum of 1 year renewable and the salary will be negotiated with us. If you are interested contact me ASAP.We are looking internationally so if you are able to send this out internationally for us I would appreciate your help or if you could give me leads on where to advertise. Another point. Do you know of any Trikes fitted with HF radio and if not is it possible to fit an HF to a Trike. Mobile: +255 787 957170 Email: deon.kruger@tgts.com or northernair@tgts.com

HF Radio Installation Trikes

Postby ZULU1 » Tue Jun 26, 2007 7:19 pm

Yes we have launched our new intercom for two radios (3 or 4 wire switching) with two PTTs in one ally enclosure, one for HF (or other radio) and the other for Aviation band, this is coupled to our new stereo intercom. This mutes music between pilot / pax when speaking with a six second time delay also as well as PTT press or either radio audio in. It has two filter regulated power supplies for both radios and a built in charger for the back up batteries on board. As an added feature the passenger socket has audio output for a video camera. Best bit is the footprint is for a ipod and comes with a bracket for same. All plugs are now Amphenol to French Mil specs which we are also using in our Bomb disposal intercoms. The cables are laced for longevity and cannot be soldered but crimped so can be fixed in the bush very easily.
Obviously all our products are noise cancelling and are now wind cheating in open air to 100mph. The speakers are full range for optimum bass.

Designed primarily for the Australian market. They use VHF though.

We also make our Vee rabbit king post antenna for these frequencies.

Our existing range will still be sold as a "sportsmans range" with no changes. Just mono music thats really the difference.

Sounds like a great job, an adventure........ sure to come back with some good stories from there.... must be someone here not "tied down" that would love to go.
