Vaal dam

Postby DieselFan » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:58 am

Whats the best times to fly around there? or even to there and back? I often see CB's on the horizon coming from there

Tips on flyaways with having to premix?

Why is it not a popular destination like Hartes, Distance or weather?

A beautiful scenary flight for me coming from Springs is flying to Parys via Vereeniging heading south. As soon as you reach the Vaalriver, you fly along it all the way past Van der Bijl and then breakaway SW for the jump over the hill to Parys.

They serve an excellent breakfeast!!!

Pragtig in the summer!!!

Vaaldam is nice, but no real fly-inn breakfeast venue that I know off? I know there's a strip somewhere to the "west" of the dam where coffee is always served  , but forgot the name.

Been to Vaaldam a couple of time and not much going on - no breakfast :( .

The Parys trip is great and the breakfast is the BEST. Another option is via the dam to Lekoa Lodge to the SE (30sm) of Heidelburg also a great breakfast.

Although, must agree with Smile and Demon, the flight along the vaal river is a must 8)
