Aeros Profi Top less

Postby J3C » Sun Dec 10, 2006 1:47 pm

Hello Flyers,

I am new to this forum. I am an avid microlighter as well as an ariline pilot.

I have been wondering for quite long time about the performance and realiability of Top Less Wings.

I noticed that quite recently Aeros has released a new version of the Profi, the Profi TL (Top Less).

http://www.aeros.com.ua/structure/trike/prfTL_en.php

I believe they have a lot of faith in the design as they are now close to launch the same wing in three different sizes, starting at 13 squared meters.

Does anyone know anything or have more information on the subject?

What are your opinions regarding Top Less designs?

Thanks so much for your replies.

Congratulations for such a wonderful Forum (Perhaps the best forum for Microlighters in the Solar System).

Happy flying!

Hi J3C & welcome.

Which corner of the globe to you hail from :?:

Top Less Wings may be the way to go - overall height reduction [lower hanger aperture] and quicker rigging time.

Solo Wings have developed one locally as well - although it might not be on their webs site yet.

Topless wings

Hi J3C

If you are seriously considering a Topless wing, have a look at the models produced by Jenya in Springs as well. It is based on a frame imported from Aeros in the Ukraine, but the sail is locally made. Support is also much more accessible.

I recently took delivery of mine, its an absolute gem to fly.

See his website: www.aerossa.com

Topless Wings

Hi J3C

Try contacting Alan Mackenzie on the forum (think its alanMack) he flies one and is based at Microland, its one of Jenyas wings. He has it fitted to a Raptor 582 and as far as I am aware extremely pleased with it. Brian Eaton is due to take delivery of an Aquilla at Emoyeni also with a topless wing. They apparently have tremendous lift but I have no knowledge in that respect. All the wing designers and manufacturers in South Africa have years of experience to draw from so I dont believe any one person would make a sub standard product.

You will enjoy this forum as it can be very informative and very helpful to all comers. They said to George when he slayed the Dragon "How big was your Club" in this case about 1500 people !! probably more now !!!

Enjoy...

Hi Folks,

Nice to meet you.

Thanks so much for the info.

I am from Argentina. I have been flying around for a while. In south, central and north america, as well as in Africa, India and now South East Asia.

My experience in trikes is small, but interesting, as I built my first trike by myself, with a brazilian wing and a rotax 503. My last trike was an Aeros 2 with Profi wing and a nice BMW engine. I sold it before coming to Thailand, so now I am thinking in my next Trike and I guess is gonna be a composite single seat without front compression strut, retractable gear and a nice Top Less wing to hang from.

I wonder when Pegasus and Airborne are going to move to the Top Less arena.

Happy flying!
