How this for ironic, I was watching Tobie tow hang gliders on Sunday and my softness was commenting on how dangerous it looked...2 hours later I kick my coffee table (gonna make some good firewood) and broke my flippin big toe in 3.
So my question is can I still fly trikes in the meantime? I was meant to resume my mpl in Nov and the doc reckons 8 weeks till they remove the pins. Not to mention I was (or am) about to buy a trike.

Question 1, can you still operate the car accelerator without any unduepain and suffering
Question 2, Are you on any really strong drugs
Question 3. Do you have a massive brace that will prevent you from steering/using the accelerator/ brake properley (Right or left foot)
Question 4, does the Doc say you need to keep the foot elevated?
these are important, but if you are comfortable enough, and capable enough to operate the trike then why not.

Don't know of anyone flying with broken bones (except Dave Lentle recently - but then he did have his Dad with him as PIC), but do know of someone who broke their back and numerous other bones in a skydiving accident and still managed to skydive with a plaster cast virtually from the next down - things people will do to for love!!

Similar story involving some "flying..."
My one cousing used to be a rough, gymnastic type of oke...
In PE, he stayed on the fourth floor. After yet another one of his late nights, he got home at about 1AM to find his softness properly asleep, and/or unable or unwilling to open the door for him...
I personally think he was just in k@k again for being out so late with this mates!
So, monkey boy that he is, he decided to climb up the outside of the building...
When he got to his window (4th floor remember), his hand slipped on a down-pipe that was slippery due to dew (or dew to due? Hehe), as he was trying to force open his window...
Now, here comes the "flying bit." He took a 4-story fall, and landed - get this - with his back on a wooden picket fence below! He'd been drinking, so perhaps this caused a bit of rag-doll syndrome (official term) and this saved his life - yes, he survived! Anyways, he ripped his lower back completely open, tore his pelvis apart, shattered it, and flipped right over, landing on his back. The major avulsion was now compressed and people HEARD him fall, so the ambulance was called fairly quickly. He was taken to hospital and stayed there to recover for some six weeks or something with a "broken back."
Anyway, so he gets out. Now Leon is a VERY avid scuba and snorkle diver. Off we go to the beach, with this dude on crutches. He couldn't don flippers, since he couldn't use his legs. Couldn't drive (technically) but did anyways, and couldn't walk properly, since he still used crutches.
But - he was MORE than happy to hobble over the rocks, with regular moans of agony and some muffled words in languages I was too young to understand! So he then leaves his crutches on the rocks, and get this - FALLS into the water and then happily DRAGS himself around by his hands underwater! But hey - he's HAPPY, right?
The point? Why do MEN INSIST on doing things they technically should NOT be doing? And then they say its for the love of this, or the passion of that!
Mwaaahaaa! I think we're just all stupid!

I've never flown with broken bones but I've flown without a brain. Both ways can get you in the k*k, so why not enjoy a bit of brake?

Plus no standing or limping pressure as my plate is broken in two and needs to join, but surely the wires will hold in meantime...My GF didn't appreciate my misinterpreted version of ELEVATEDQuestion 4, does the Doc say you need to keep the foot elevated?
Big D I didn't plan on going to Aviators but took my chick to a nice Pancake effort someone recommended...and coincidentally had a trike towing not too far away. Anyways atleast I got off of work, and needed a break.
Think 'm going to try fly next week and see if it hurts, one major PRO thusfar is that I've got out of going shopping!!
